articles that tell the story of the people of Burke County, Georgia and
the surrounding counties during the period of 1882 through 1930.
In these books you will find fully abstracted articles of births,
marriages, deaths and other articles of interest recorded in Burke
County’s weekly newspaper.
This information is presented chronically in a way that is similar
to reading the local page of your weekly newspaper. It has been indexed
for easy reference.
Burke County Folks is a valuable resource of information for
genealogist and historians, as many of these newspaper articles contain
information about individuals and families that is not recorded
elsewhere.

Anyone who wants a County Map of Burke or any other county may obtain them from GA DOT Map Room, 2 Capital Square, Atlanta, GA 30334.They're available for $1.50 each. These maps are very helpful in locating Cemeteries within the county as they are marked on the maps along with other sites. They have them for all Counties in Georgia.
