          ......    The JBY Ballroom Dance Club, a membership-based ballroom dance club, boasting 640 members, holds its dance on the second Thursday of each month, 7:30-10:30 pm, at Elk’s Lodge No. 79 - Cloud Room, 6815 Second Avenue South, Birmingham, Alabama. Live Band Music is provided by The George Winter Band, Tradewinds Band, or Classics Band.

Dress Code

        Semiformal except for the summer months, June through October, when casual dress is allowed, but no jeans, shorts, halter tops, tube tops, caps, tennis shoes or men's shirts without collars. Cocktail style long pants are allowed. Please inform your guests of the dress code.

        Please do not bring set-ups to the dances. Our contract does not permit us to do this. You may bring your own bottle and snacks. Popcorn, snacks, ice, juice and set-ups are available at the dance. Please do not smoke in the ballroom.

On I-59/I-20 going east from Tuscaloosa or from I-65
Take I-20 Exit 130 to Atlanta. Take Exit 130B (1st Avenue North) on right. You will exit onto 1st Avenue North at about 64th Street. Turn right. Stay on 1st Avenue North and go 4 blocks to 68th Street. Turn right and go 3 short blocks.
On I-59 going west from Gadsden or from Trussville
Take the 81st Street exit 132 on right. Go 13 blocks to 68th Street and 1st Avenue North. Turn left and go 3 short blocks.

You'll see a huge 18 acre place, cattycorner from stop sign at 68th Street South and 2nd Avenue South. Turn left on 2nd Avenue, and almost immediately turn right into their long driveway. Go to back entrance - at right side of building.

At each dance, please ask two or three of our single ladies to dance during the evening. Please walk the ladies back to their table at the end of the Whistle Dances.
