The Indians Racing Team is a part of the Sea Breeze Fire Department in Irondequoit New York, a suburb of Rochester. The Sea Breeze Fire District is considered to be the smallest in New York State at approx. 1 square mile. The active roster has about 35 members with a dozen of them participating on the racing team. The Indians Racing Team has just completed its 60th year of firematic competition. 1998 was a season of adjustment for the Indians. While the team had a successful season finishing in the top 5 everyweek they also regressed on several races. This winter the team hopes to hold several fundraisers to go towards some key purchases that need to be made for the 1999 season. Please read on to get the latest on any upcoming Indians activities and to see the teams active roster. This page will be updated as information becomes available.
At a team meeting in November of 1998, the Indians Racing Team voted 9-2 to combine with the Point Pleasant "Pea Pickers" for the 1999 racing season. This was done due to a few internal reasons that might have kept the team from racing competitivly for the upcoming season. This move is only for the 1999 season and the Indians will still continue to hold their own fundraisers and will still host a drill during the season. This move allows the team to be able to get "back on its feet" while still allowing the current members to race. We hope all the teams supporters and fans will still come out to watch the team at its drills as they race with the boys from "South Sea Breeze" and we thank you for your continued support.
