oseph Anthony Daniels IV--- J.D.--- was a 13 year old 8th grade honor student who was a blazing ball of energy and laughter. The world was his playground; every day was an adventure and every person was his friend, whether you were 3 or 83. He was tragically taken from us when he was killed by a hit-and-run driver as he and five of his friends walked home to celebrate his birthday on October 3, 1997.
his website is designed to let you get to know the special person that JD was and to share with you the ways he touched so many lives. JD taught us, by his life, to be good to everyone and to have fun. We hope you have some fun exploring his world. We have learned that grief flows in and out of happiness, and so there are some links in and out of this site dealing with grief. These sites are for parents as well as kids. We hope you visit these too.

is loss deeply affected hundreds of students at his school, and the entire community of Methuen, Mass. We want to honor JD's life and share with you the joys he brought to us.
On Aug. 28, 1998, after 11 months of long hours of investigative work, an arrest was made. The Methuen police along with the Lawrence Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police continued to pursue the driver, and never gave up. We are so grateful that they never forgot our son. You can read about the detectives and our reaction as it was reported in the Lawrence Eagle Tribune. The case will be tried sometime in the summer of 1999. The case was reviewed by the Grand Jury in October, 1998 and has been assigned to Salem Superior Court.
