To the Methuen Police Department, the Lawrence Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the police from New Hampshire, Vermont, New Jersey, the dozens of staff members from the District Attorney's office, and all the other people who were instrumental in bringing about an arrest of the driver on Aug. 28, 1998.

Now we can also thank Assistant District Attorneys Milton Cranney and Jessica Connors, and Victim's Advocate Faye Ciamitaro whose hardwork and dedication lead to the guilty plea submitted by the defendant in court on Tuesday, February 29, 2000. We are also grateful for their sensitivity and their constant communication with us.

We are also grateful to the Methuen community which has supported us throughout the last two and a half years. We know that the right person is in jail and has acknowledged his actions. It will not bring JD back, but it might help us sleep better at night.
