Computer Controlled Etch-A-Sketch

It's Alive

The Etch-A-Sketch is controlled by 2 stepping motors via a Fascinating Electronic's Experimenter controller card (800) 683-KITS. It is connected to the serial port of the Macintosh Powerbook 165. I wrote the machining software in FutureBasic II by Staz Software, Inc. My program reads HPGL and the old Apple 410 color plotter commands from file. The program displays the file being plotted graphicly on screen along with the command lines from the file, controller status and pen positioning information.
