PROFESSIONAL
Received a B.S. in Physics from Harvard, and is currently a CSI Level 2, whose forensics specialty is materials and element analysis.*

Grissom called in Sara from San Francisco to help with the Holly Gribbs case, and she stayed on after that. Because Grissom trusted her implicitly, and was new to the team, he had her investigate allegations against Warrick. At one point in time she'd been Grissom's student, but we've never learned where.

Sara loves her work, and is as obsessed if not more so than Grissom when it comes to the case. She likes dead body cases, especially those with just bones ("what a rush"), and loves working with Grissom's Red Creeper fingerprint powder. On the other hand, she can let her emotions alter her perception of a case, especially when it comes to cases of violence perpetuated against women, such as Kaye Shelton (shot dead by husband), or 'Jane Doe' (who'd been raped and left in a permanent vegetative state). No back story has been provided yet as to why she feels so strongly about these types of cases.

When Grissom evaluated her, he gave her an outstanding remark, but said she needed to improve her ability to prioritize.

PERSONAL LIFE
Single.

Although she's not married, and seems to have no current boyfriend, she is a member of the Mile High Club. That means she had sex in an airplane at an altitude of over one mile. It was on Delta flight #1109, Boston to Miami, in March of '93 with Ken Fuller (hazel eyes, organic chem lab major) and she told Grissom that the experience was overrated... in every aspect. She does have an admirer, whom she keeps at a distance: Dave Phillips, one of the lab techs.

Like Grissom, she's not as keen to deal with live people as she is with corpses. At first she did not want to handle Brenda Collins, the child survivor of a family massacre, but as time wore on, the little girl grew on her

Sara is very forthright in her attitude, and that can rub people the wrong way. She even butted heads with Catherine when they first met and had to work together on the Holly Gribbs case, but as they got to know each other, they've become good friends.

Drives a black Chevrolet Tahoe, license 019 ATO. Presumably it is hers.

ATTIRE
Like Catherine, she wears slacks and tops, but is a little more casual than Catherine. We've only seen her in a skirt and blouse once (along with a lot more make-up) when she offered herself up as a decoy for an FBI trap for the Strip Strangler.

MISCELLANEOUS

OFF-SCREEN TIDBITS

  • Sara's last name, according to CBS sources and several scripts, is spelled "Sidle", not "Sidel."
