   Jerry searcher for Alex Looney out of Buchanan Co. VA. His grandfather Alex d. before 1909. Buried in Buchanan Co. VA near a small area called Grassy Creek which is near Elkhorn City KY where Jerry was born & "reared". Jerry says his grandfather was about 22 years old when he died from TB. Any info about him appreciated.

   Bev has little to go on. Her grandmother was Artie Eunice Looney, her grandfathers name may have been Warren. She believes her grandmother died 1918-19 and is buried in Crum Creek OK.  Her grandfather then married grandmother's sister Loreno Looney in 1920 in Clinton OK. Lorena died Oct 1944 and is buried in Phoenix AZ.  Warren (?) Looney may have had a brother Marint L. Looney Bev's line: Warren (?) Looney m. Bowers, children W.A. Looney (oldest) Lorena, Artie (Eunice) and Martin L. Looney. Artie(Eunice) m.    Steve Looney

   Steve's father (Clifton Cleo Looney) and family are from Randolph & Craig Co. AR. His mother (Clara Audean Coe) is from Ripley Co. MO and Randolph/Craig Co. AR. Steve says 4-5 generations back a Looney married a Coe which makes his parents distant cousins. He also believes at one time there was a Looney-Cherokee and a Coe- Cherokee marriage in his family.

   Joel S. Russell

   Joel not actively researching Looney's although some are intermarried with his Bradley line that settled in Jackson Co. IL. There is a Looney Springs Cemetery in the NW corner of the county, at one time a Free Will Baptist Church. Joel's Bradley ancestor was a minister there, as was his brother. Joel hs offered to help with anyone researching Looney's in that area.

   Mike descended from Adam Looney who he thinks is possible son of Robert & Elizabeth Looney of Botetourt Co. , VA. Adam moved to Mecklenburg NC and later to Craven SC., died intestate in Tryon with his son Robert Looney administrator. Robert Looney b. ca 1748, baptised 4 Mar 1748/49 married Betsie Quinn daughter of Hugh Quinn. Robert die4d 22OCT1824, Betsie 10OCT1820. Their daughter Sarah Looney married Abishia Camp. Sarah & Abishia daughter Sarah married Samuel Carter in Bibb Co. AL 1821. Mike has limited amount of Quinn material, quite a lot of Camp, Looney, and Carter.

They had at least 7 children, Wm. A. B. ca 1860, Andrew J. b ca 1865, Mary E. b ca 1868, Melia C. (or Catherine Millie) B. 1870. All born in TN. Joseph A. b ca. 1874, James A. b ca 1878, Charles Frank b. ca 1884 all born in MO. Joseph & Almeda joined a wagon train in 1870's to Bollinger Co. Mo. Joseph died Oct 1895 in Bollinger Co. Almeda died Feb 1923. We have no family for Joseph. His father may have been a William Looney and his mother Mary as those are not Penney family names. (Almeda Peney daughter of Malinda Gann & Thomas Penney).

Looney (1785-1846).  William had a son, William "Gravelly Bill" through a Sarah Felkner.  Later,  William M. married Rhoda Stubblefield (1782-1847) and produced about 10 children. A son of William "Gravelly Bill" (1803-1870) was William Pinkney Looney who was Anthony's gg grandfather.  William M.
