Howard Stern Funeral For WNBC Radio

Several months after being fired from WNBC Radio Howard Stern got the last laugh when he beat them in the ratings at his new home WXRK 92.3 fm.( k rock ). On May 2,1986 He Held a mock Funeral on 50th street and 6th ave a short distance from the NBC studios. Many fans have heard of this event but have never seen it. Well I was there and shot the video. Shortly after the event I sent a copy of the tape to Howard, which I'm pretty sure has been lost or it would have undoubtly turned up on the E show. I have heard some of the audio portions on the Best of Stern. Howards friend neil was also filming that day but he turned the camera on and off several times and even moved his position. I stood directly in front of Howard through out the whole event and Filmed it without Interruption.

It consisted of Howard saying a few nasty words about Imus,soupy and NBC. Robin was dressed as a nun. They sang a parody of Turn Turn Turn, Fred was there as well.They were standing in front of a Hearse. Howard held up an Urn which contained the Ashes of NBC. The crowd grew to about 2 or 3 thousand. I also have gary negotiating with security guards before Howard arrived. After Howard jumped back in his limo he flipped the bird to NBC it was a very funny site.It was one of Howards first Appearances and showed the popularity he was attaining. the following photos and audio clips are from the video.
