Hi! My name is Jody. I am a human resources (HR) professional, web developer, quilter, and a new mom. I enjoy creating things that are both functional and pleasing to the eye. As part of my HR job, I am the editor for our employee newsletter and the web author for our website. In my spare time, I also design and maintain other websites. If you would like some help creating and/or maintaining a website, please let me know.
I love quilts and try to finish one or two quilts a year. I also enjoy auto racing, camping, playing volleyball, as well as hunting for antique/vintage sewing machines and Hull pottery.

Quilting Works in Progress:
Right now I'm working on my second jeans quilt. I love jeans quilts. It's a chance to recycle and reuse old jeans and make a very warm quilt. For this quilt I took jeans in several different colors (blues, white, tan, purple, black, and charcoal) and cut out 6 1/2 inch squares. Next I arranged (and rearranged!) the squares until I was satisfied with the layout, and then pieced the top of the quilt using one of my vintage sewing machines (the 185J Singer). I'm really pleased with the way the top of the quilt has turned out. Using the non-blue denim squares makes the quilt top sparkle, if you know what I mean. My next task is to baste the quilt top to my chosen backing. Because of the weight of the denim I do not need a batting layer. I thought about using polar fleece for the backing but couldn't justify spending a lot of money for a recycled jeans quilt. So I'm using some soft fabric found in a clearance bin. I'll add a photo of this quilt to the website as soon as I can.
I also have a "few" unfinished objects (UFO's)...I'll add more about them later.
