REEL-TO-REELS  (cassettes are further down!)

Monkees reels are as hard to find (if not harder) than the 8-tracks! Since reels never really made it, they are worth a bit more than their eight-track counterparts. More annoying is the fact that all of the reels listed are to be played at the dreadfully slow 3 3/4 IPS speed, as opposed to the faster 7 1/2 IPS.

CASSETTES

Although cassettes first came out in 1962, they did not become a popular format until twenty years later. Only severe audiophiles would have bought them in the late '60s/early '70s, thus making them EXTREMELY rare. I only know of a handful of Monkees Colgems cassettes circulating.
