Dear Tim, Thanks again. Per one of my previous letters, just thought that you should know that the local parish here has reconsidered their previous decisions to not let my kids go to CCD 'cuz hubby and I aren't Catholic yet, and to make hubby and I wait till fall to start anything to BE Catholic. After Easter, we will be meeting with our pastor, and can join the Church when we feel we're ready. Also, our kids have been allowed to start CCD . They are very excited, as much as I am, and they also love your websites. My eldest son is particularly fond of your lessons as he can look up what they're going to study in RE before he goes there!! His teachers think he's a little genius, tho' we tell YOU are the genius!
thanks again,
love,

Jane

Dear Tim:
You were recommended to me to be contacted. I was baptized and raised a Catholic. I fell in love with God by the influence of my grandmother. I was a devout Catholic until I was 20 when I was seduced by anti Catholic propaganda became confused and left the church. I joined the Assembly of God Church about 6 years later as I had not had a home church since I stopped going to mass. I though I found a home but through many circumstances and events including a divorce the most horrible experience of my life God has brought me home. I am now remarried and I am still barred from the sacraments until I receive an annulment which by God's grace I should receive because of "Defect of Form." Word's cannot express the joy I feel by coming home. I now realize that the Protestant Church is ever increasingly divided and in utter confusion because they are in rebellion to God's ONE TRUE CHURCH. I also realize now that divorce is so rampant in the Protestant church, especially Charismatic church's like the AOG because they are in an UNLAWFUL DIVORCE from the "BRIDE OF CHRIST," THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. The Protestant church is living in SPIRITUAL ADULTERY and because of this the Protestant church is a PROSTITUTE CHURCH that is cursed.
However, I consider those who are in the Protestant Church, who love God with all their heart, with all their soul, and with all their mind are the 'LOST SHEEP OF ROME." During my Protestant experience many people who did not know me would come up to me and tell me. "God has called you to be an Evangelist." I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area at the time and use to spend My Saturday mornings street witnessing to the Jewish community as well as the gays and the homeless. My life was threatened on several occasions but I preached the Word with boldness. I did lead many to Christ and disciple a dozen or so friends. However, I really did not want to be an evangelist. In 1986 I felt God spoke to my heart and told me that one day He would lead me out of my vocation (Aircraft Mechanic) and call me to ministry. I accepted what God said but I really was not thrilled with it because I did not want to be like Jimmy Swaggart or any other TV Evangelist. What I really wanted was to go back to College and study Engineering. My friends thought that was "unspiritual" because "Engineering" had nothing to do with the Bible or God.
In 1993, God sent me to College full time where I studied Engineering and Mathematics. I was 2 1/2 years through my studies when tragedy hit my life through the pangs of divorce. I had to dropped out of college and I have not returned. This weekend I felt that God has began to reveal to me the Ministry He is now getting ready to call me to; Roman Catholic Apologetics and Evangelism. I feel the Protestant Church stole my life from me as it is written and spoken by Our Lord, "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber."
John 10:1 Therefore, By The Spirit of Him who has shown me such great mercy I pray He will send me to the Lost Sheep of Rome to lead them back to the Bride of Our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, Son of the Living God.
Tim, I introduce myself so that you will know that Jesus has brought me Home where I always belonged. Please help me by giving me any information you have and staying in contact with me. Also forward this to all your Catholic Apologist brothers and sisters in Christ so that I may be encouraged and built up
Sincerely Yours In Christ,

David Lamb

Hi, Tim!

You'll enjoy the following which was written by my spiritual director to a Lutheran woman; he's responding to her comments between brackets:

You are correct in noting the difference in teaching, but have misunderstood it as a "repetition" of the Sacrifice. It is not. The reason why it at first looks like a repetition is because in seeing it Protestants and nonbelievers look at it as any human activity. They FORGET or do not realize that the Sacrifice on the Cross by Jesus is a DIVINE PERSON IN a human act (because in a human being). This changes everything. A human act is a one time thing; but a DIVINE-Human act breaks through the limitation of time and attains an ETERNAL reality and significance, because it is joined to the Eternal Offering of the Son to the Father within the Trinity (He is a Priest FOREVER). This permanent state of Self-giving is the heart of the Human act of Jesus, the Divine Person. The Sacrifice is therefore above time by reason of the Person acting, though the manner is unrepeatable (bloody). That one same Self-offering, once made in a bloody manner, is NOW made PRESENT in an UNbloody manner, so as to make It available to people who could not be present at the Bloody Sacrifice. WHY? So that THEY have the opportunity to join their own personal offering, as well as communal offering to Our Lord's Eternal Offering. That's why the text says "once FOR ALL! That is, for ALL TIMES, i.e., in each time made available.
The Eucharist was instituted by Our Lord to be the UNBLOODY medium of making available the ONE Divine-Human Act of Self-offering to the Father, in which as a Man representing the whole race the Divine Person of the Son gives worship and love to the Father without asking the least for Himself. The Father raises Him up in Resurrection completely transformed in Body by the power of the Holy Spirit, so that NOW the Risen Flesh of Christ is able to communicate the Holy Spirit to us, i.e., THROUGH the Flesh. This is done by the transformation of the reality of bread and wine into the reality of the Risen Flesh and Blood of the God-Man, thus making ACTUALLY PRESENT the very same Divine Person Incarnate; this Real Presence makes it POSSIBLE for US to offer the one SAME Offering that transcends time. WE are able to transcend time and the Father accepts from US His Son and His Son's Self-offering.
In the Mass we pray God for Him to accept from US what HE has accepted ALREADY from His Son, namely the Son's Self-offering (giving of Himself in the bloody circumstances of the crucifixion). Thus what is new in the Mass is not the Essential Offering which is the same Eternal Covenant in His Blood, but the UNBLOODY OCCASION of that ONE presentation in our time. This was made available to us by the Law of the Incarnation; that is, in a HUMAN mode of new historical occasions because we are historical beings (unlike Angels!) who could not be present in a human way in the once city of Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. Christ thus shares His sacrificial offering with us in different times and places, making it AVAILABLE to us, i.e., the ONE trans-spatial, trans-temporal offering of the SON made Man to the Father.
So you see, there us MUCH more than what merely meets the eye! It is because Protestantism has lacked this depth of understanding of the Faith and treated the experience and reality of Calvary merely as a one time thing like any other human act, that is, has GUTTED the Sacrifice on the Cross from its ETERNAL meaning ("This is the cup of my blood of the New and Eternal Covenant. . ."!!!), that it can understand the Eucharist as only a REMEMBRANCE and a SYMBOL of a previous human event (like the anniversary of a wedding) and an occasion to make an act of faith and praise. This stems from a merely human way of thinking, i.e., ordinary one level thinking with logic. THAT sort of rational thinking SEPARATES the Divine from the human in Jesus' Death on the Cross and sees only the result in Him as Resurrected, as the Cross is over, done with, and only Resurrection left.
But that is not why Our Lord became Incarnate. What He assumes (i.e., TAKES UP of Himself) He DIVINIZES and does not destroy. In taking up suffering and death (our actual condition of living) He makes HOLY with Divine Love as human realities which can be lived through with Divine Love by us joined to Him by Grace. What He does NOT take up, He destroys. He does not take up sin. (Sin then is destroyed in His sacrifice of Self-offering out of Divine Love for the Father as new Head of the Human Race, the New Adam, or rather the TRUE Adam of the human race. By giving us the Mass, He has given us the Divine power to do this. The Mass therefore is the reenactment in an unbloody manner of the One, Eternal Sacrifice of Calvary, so that WE can offer OURSELVES actively interiorly with Him in His Sacrifice, as Mary did at the foot of the Cross, in the company of St. John and the holy women. (Mary as TYPE of the Church offered her own suffering along with Christ by His grace, thus helping to establish the LINK of the Church offering herself with Christ in the Mass.)
The Mass therefore is an exchange of real gifts and not just prayer or praise. The main Gift (Jesus, and Jesus' supra-temporal activity of Loving) is made present by Jesus' ordained priest for the gathered Church to give Him to the Father including ourselves in the offering. And the Father gives His Son back to us in the Risen Flesh under the appearances (only) of bread and wine, to be the medium of communicating the Holy Spirit.
Finally, already for the Jews Passover was experienced as more than anniversary, but as somehow participating in the original salvation from the slavery of Egypt. This should make it easier to understand that the NT written by Jews who were transformed by the Holy Spirit would SEE the Eucharist, Last Supper, Calvary, in the Catholic sense explained above as more likely than in the MODERN, human reasoning sense of one time unrepeatable event only like any other human event.

Dear Jude, Greetings from North Dakota, I enjoyed your site.
Fr. Jay

Dear Tim,

Peace of our Lord Jesus be with you and your loved ones. Just surfing thru'
your website alone has given me and my family so much of warmth deep
within. We understand this beautiful faith so much more now. Our parish
priest just celebrated his Golden Jubilee as a Priest. Tell me if you can
find such faith and perseverance from another religion or denomination.
My family from the Netto clan have been Catholics for generations. My
parents came to this country in 1946 from Kerala, South India. My wife's
family on the other hand have been Hindu's all their lives and they come
from Madras in India. My wife went thru the RCIA (Right of Christian
Initiation for Adults) programme for more than a year before being
baptized. Our daughter Melissa was baptized before her mother. Both my wife
and I are civil servants and I work as a Police Officer with the Royal
Malaysia Police. Very difficult and extremely unpopular because of my
religious beliefs but I stand steadfast because He lives. I am a Policeman
because He decides. I am the only Christian in a 95% Muslim outfit. No
worries there.
We love this faith and will never give it up for anything. I have sent out
your website details/URL to many friends and we pray that your website will
grow so that Catholics will be able to understand their faith better and to
answer who do not understand us. Pse feel free to visit the church we go to
at: My Parish

May the Good Lord Bless you and your loved ones in abundance Tim for your
goodwork and your rewards lie not in this world but in His.

Shalom,

David, Shashi, Melissa & Andrew Netto.

God bless you for your web page, "Keeping Catholics Catholic." For fifteen years I was an Anglican clergyman. Then Christ in His mercy granted my wife, children, and I the grace of conversion and the privilege of membership in His One True Church. Unfortunately, since our conversion we have often been told by other Catholics that all religions are the same. A priest once even told me that I was crazy to have converted and left behind the large salary I made as pastor of an affluent parish! Your web site offers a much-needed antidote to the apathy we Catholics in America are tempted by. I am especially appreciative of your real gift for graphics. The reason: It really grabbed my children's attention! Once you had their attention they read the excellent content of your site and their faith was strengthened. Know that I will be praying for you, that the Lord Jesus will richly bless your apostolate. May Our Lady and all the saints pray for you, and may all the holy angels guard and defend you as you labor for Christ our King, and his glorious Bride -- the Holy Apostolic Roman Church!

Yours in Jesus and Mary,

Dear Tim, Thank you for your consideration in changing the hyperlinks from
yellow to blue.

They are more easily seen. And I commend you for the boldness and clarity of
your presentations. You perform a great service. Many thanks.

Tim,
I am a frequent visitor to the Class index web site. I first would like to express my profound appreciation for all of your hard work and dilligence. The resource your group has provided is such a benefit. I have spent hours researching your work on the internet and haave learned a great deal more about my faith.

Perhaps my following suggestion is not a new one for you, but I would like to know if your series of Catholic lessons has a chance of being published in book form. If you turned your volumes of work into book(s) form, it would be such a helpful resource to use. I think it would be a very successful venture.

Again Tim, thanks for your hard work and insight. May God continue to bless you and your ministry.

Take Care and God Bless

P.S. The affiliation of your bookstore and Amazon is a blessing also. I look forward to many future purchases of some of these books.

As a Lutheran and one who doesn't believe in Mary being a virgin after birth you lesson has opened my eyes. Especially about kinsmen and Jesus telling the apostal to take care of Mary.

Thanks for your info

Hi Tim,

I just read your exposition of John 6, and I want to thank you so very much for taking so much time and effort to post all of that information. May God bless you!

Hopefully, all of us who love and adore this Most Blessed Treasure of Our Lord's Sacred Body and Blood will do all within our power to help others to come to understand this wondrous Truth.

He is truly "God with us" in His Real Presence. "I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you."

Thank you for your very obvious efforts to glorify our Eucharistic Lord.

In Christ,

Marie-Therese

Dear Karen,

WOW!!!!!! What a web site. Got a computer so I could keep up with Medjugorje and all of the wonderful things Our Blessed lord and His Mother are doing around this world. And without a doubt this whole site is one of those wonderful things. So wonderful to know there are so many practicing Roman Catholics. God in HIs mercy has blessed all of us with the gift of true Faith. May we never bring HIm shame or cause His most sacred wounds to be any more painful. May He give us all a deeper love of the Eucharist...and a deeper true love of each other.

Phyllis F. M.I

Dear Karen,

Thankyou for your lovely site and inspiring work. I have heard that the relics of St Therese are touring the USA . Do you have any idea when and where ? Thankyou for any help.

Theresa

Tim,

Have just received my graded timeline back from my professor A. Morris M.A.Theo. at Saint Mary's Seminary here in Houston, marked A+! "May I please have a copy of this for my own use. It is the best I have ever seen".

I want to thank you for the amount of work you have to put into the project, without which I would not have been able to get that grade. Since 60% of the information on that project came from your site, 60% of the credit must go to you.

Have a very Merry Christmas and A Happy Joyfilled New Year,
God bless

Allan

Dear Tim,

I had to stop for a minute and write you a note of thanks!! We are a homeschooling family working on a Catholic timeline and I found your site through "go to network." Bless you, this is a labor of love! It is just what we needed when we needed it.
