Diane Fanucchi - poet@apron.net
Grover Beach CA, U.S.A.
Relative beginner to the Internet.
Interests: poetry, all literature, travel, the therapeutic uses of
poetry, holistic health.
I have been a massage therapist and holistic health practitioner, and I am
currently a re-entry student, finishing my degree in Creative writing with
a minor in psychology. I am considering pursuing poetry therapy as a
profession. I have written poetry for several years and have only in the
last few begun trying to publish. I have poems published in several
magazines, and I have a new chapbood, A Color Between, for which I am
seeking a publisher.
This year my husband's three teenaged children have come to live with us,
which has been an exciting and sometimes overwhelming new challenge for me,
an only child who thought I would never have children. I am learning a lot
and generally enjoying this new adventure. I am a very petite introvert
living in a house with four large extroverts, which can sometimes seem a
little strange. This summer I have been out of classes and writing from
home. I can tell that I will need a separate office by the time I
graduate. Despite all this company, being a shy but intellectually engaged
woman and a writer can sometimes be lonely. I would like to find other
women writers for conversation and mutual support.

Although I have published in a regional food and wine magazine (one of my reviews was reprinted in a regional journal), I haven't published elsewhere. I have tremendous difficulties trying to transition between work and writing (I work full-time in an art gallery in Davis). A part is, of course, the limited time and energy. I would love to hear how other writers working at a full-time job solve this problem. I am currently writing a memoir. I have a mystery in mind that I have planned to do for several years, but feel
my real passion is in writing the short story.
