PAPER DOLL PORTRAITS
Think of paper dolls as portraits. They are portraits of people who change.
1. Make a paper doll of someone whom everyone seems to know.
Make an outfit that shows what you think of this person.
Make a second outfit that shows what this person is really like.
Make a third outfit that shows this person at their best.
How different are these outfits from each other?
2. Draw a paper doll of yourself.
Exaggerate your best feature.
Make three masks that show your happiness.
Make three outfits that make you sad.
Dress the paper doll in the masks and outfits.
Mix and match.
3. Use the shapes in the box above to imagine 3 people in motion.
Make 3 paper dolls based on the shapes.
Make two outfits for each paper doll.
Arrange the paper dolls on a page, and tell a story about the friendship between them.
Change the outfits, and change the arrangement.
