Legoland Medical Response was founded in Lego City on 11-24-00. Starting January 1st, 2001, LMR will be Lego City's first and sole provider of non-emergency transportation.

LMR provides the following levels of transport:

Wheelchair - This is for patients who are not on any equipment, yet may not be physically able to travel themselves. A senior citizen going to a doctors appointment from his nursing home is an example of a person who may request wheelchair transportation from LMR.

BLS (Basic Life Support) - This is for patients that are on equipment, such as oxygen, and need to travel. An elderly man requesting transport from the hospital after a minor surgery back to his nursing home is an example of a person who may request BLS transportation from LMR.

ALS (Advanced Life Support) - This is for patients that are on equipment, such as cardiac monitors, IV's, pain medications, and need to travel. Someone being released from a trauma center to go to a hospital near their home for continued difinitive care is an example of a person who may request ALS transportation from LMR.

MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) - This is for patients that are on major life supporting types of equipment, such as ventilators, and need to travel. Someone in a coma being transfered to a medical facility closer to their home is an example of a person who may request MICU transportation from LMR.

Beginning in 1999, LMR pursued obtaining the contract for primary 911 response within the City of Lego City. However, after much debate, this contract was granted to the Lego City Fire Department. In an effort to yet gain a piece of the Lego City EMS System, LMR presented a plan for a higher level of care within Lego City.

This higher level of care meant creating a new service within Lego City. Until LMR's presence in the City, there were no local non-emergency transportation companies. Ambulances would travel many miles to pick up and drop off patients that were requiring medical transportation. This meant extremely high medical transportation bills and much less efficient and much less compassionate care by the medical professionals.

Now that LMR has entered within the Lego City EMS System, this greatly increases the efficiency of the local EMS system. Now, ambulances and vans only have to travel for a couple of miles versus the hundred miles that used to be required of them to respond within Lego City. LMR also provides more compassionate medical professionals. The responding crews are no longer exhausted nor are they burnt out. This ensures that LMR's medical professionals retain only the highest level of compassion for our customers. Additionally, LMR proudly uses and carries only state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring the highest quality level of care to our customers.

So as you can see, LMR is your only choice for the highest quality of non-emergency transportation within Lego City.

As of September 2, 2001, LMR and the Lego City FD began talks which will allow LMR to be responsible for the majority of 911 emergency calls within Lego City. This has been LMR's goal since it was introduced into Lego City. The exact details regarding the exact Service Area and the types of calls that LMR will handle are still under negotiations. Details of the exact contract will be posted once they are finalized.
