FAST FACTS:
In 4 meets so far this year, the Lady Govs 4x400 team has won the event twice, had one second place and one third place. No team from the OVC has defeated APSU's 4x400 relay so far...SEMO, EIU, MTSU, UTM, Murray St., and TSU (?) have all tried and failed. The DMR (which IS an OVC event) is heating up, and should easily establish a school record at the OVC, and maybe improve upon the 3rd place medal the DMR won last year (Remember Melissa's one-shoe anchor leg?). Selena looks very competitive in the 200/400, Sheena looks poised to place in the 800 and maybe the mile, Ayesha could go top three in any of the three jumps, and Kenya will be tough in either the 400 or the 800. If Roni regains her early season form, she could score in the 55 hurdles, as well. One more tune-up before OVC, back here at SIU on the 13th of February. Congratulations to Sheena for taking down Sandy Bates' mile record of 5:16 from 1995. Ready to go sub-5:10?
