Book Reviews
As a science fiction/fantasy writer, I know the value of reading good genre books. One way to educate yourself, as a writer, is to read extensively in your field. I not only read for that experience but for fun as well. And luckily, I get to review science fiction books for the Writers Club Menu at America Online. For some great reads (and some not-so-great), check out SF Reviews . (Sorry, Writers Club and the SF Reviews are only available to AOL members.)
Courses
While supporting my writing habit, I teach a six week workshop, Fiction Writers Anonymous, at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan. This course concentrates on character development, plot, and conflict. Additionally, I conduct a series of one day workshops dealing with writing issues such as: Scenes, Dialogue, Character Archetypes and Editing for Fiction. Click here to check on the next course offerings.

Newsletter
This past year also saw the start of my fiction writing newsletter, FWA Newsletter Home Page . We discuss various aspects of writing and how to get published.
Upcoming Publications
In August, 1998, my short story 'Magician's Tale' will appear in the premiere edition of Spacer's Digest (tm) , a subscription-only webzine. The August issue is displayed free of charge as an introductory offer. Speculative fiction readers should stop by and check out this new webzine.
Also, I have two book reviews in the premiere issue of Pulp Eternity. Check the Eternity Online link below for information on how to order Pulp Eternity. Mention my account number 0042.
Thanks to all those readers who voted my short story 'Fade to White' (which appeared in the April 1998 issue of Eternity Magazine Science Fiction Fantasy Horror ) as Story of the Month. It is now in contention for Story of the Year. I invite you to compare it to the other fine offerings at Eternity. Don't forget to cast your ballot for one of those stories.
