Presents: Bobbin Lace

Bobbin Lace Table Slope: Instructions to make one for yourself or as a group project.

I began bobbin lace in December of  '98.  It was a challenge from my friend.
Look what I've done!

Bookmark from our monthly guild newsletter, featuring the eight thread armure and rose point grounds.

This was a lovely  cross pattern I found at my friends house.  It was just a
pricking and looked like it had a gimp, which I omitted.  I experimented in
two colors size 50 thread.  Boy is that fine!

My first Springette pattern.  My first spanish fan.  That was tricky. I had to
find a pattern book that explained the spanish fans.  The study in Torchon
grounds by Julie Hendrick helped.

This is a modification of the mat pattern found in the Sothard beginners book.
Some of those doilies are just too small for my purpose.  This sits on a lovely wooden serving tray.
I discovered that when enlarging or adding to an existing pricking one must redefine the starting place.
I made it to the first corner and had to retro all the way to the beginning.  Lace and Learn.

Springette pattern: My first attempt at adding beads to my Bobbin Lace.
Beads are no stranger to me if you have seen my tatting!  I did do another
as a gift in lavender, irredescent gimp and silver beads.  Very impressive!

Work in progress.  I have 2 yards done and need 10 total.  It is for my
costume which I wear for deomonstrations.  I have found that a costume
gets attention when deomonstrating in public and at school demonstrations.
