Grew up in Marlborough and always drove to Leominster around Memorial Day. His family is gone - the Golden's -but other relatives are Higgins, Crain, Reagan, Healy - all Irish. Their graves are all in the same vicinity at St. Leo's. His parents came from Roscommon (Coleman) and Sligo (Golden, McGoldrick, Golding) I went to Ireland to the Golden homestead and found many other related lines who came to Leominster as well. They lived on Cottage Street. By: Theresa Barry E-Mail: Theresa Barry Who Had These Comments: What a wonderful surprise! My husband and I moved our family here about three years ago from Arizona. I believe one of his creations is being displayed at the Leominster Historical Center. My Great Grandmother was Elizabeth Carter whose father Charles Carter was son of Oliver Carter who gave Carter Park to Leominster - if I'm getting my history correct. They lived at 26 Summer St for decades. The Carters are pretty easy to trace, but I've not had good luck with Wm. Spaulding's background. Jean (his youngest daughter) who was a librarian at the Leominster library for 50 years, did try to do some tracing back, but that was in the days before computers and she wasn't too successful. I only have what she passed on to me to go by,and I have stone walled for right now.Hoping to find more, but if you know anyone who might have info on the Erastus H. Spaulding family of Rochester,NY I would surely appreciate it.Thanks!
