Dear Mr. Teh:
It is ridiculous for you to intimate that you have not resorted to abusive language and have held your emotions in check when most of your past commentaries and letters vilified and satirized President Taylor, the government and those associated with it in not very subtle terms. You may hate our illustrious, courageous and popular president so much that the compulsive obsession to remove him from power at all costs have beclouded your power of reasoning and blocked the reality of the situation obtaining on the ground here.
Be aware that there are no options available to you for the next ten years or so that will give you the opportunity to satisfy your desire to kill or depose our president. Forget it and douse the burning hatred in your heart and mind with some reasoning. Your hatred is more deleterious to yourself than any body else.
Regarding the Liberia News Agency and MICAT, there are utility values that the government attaches to theses two institutions, which warrant their existence. Regardless of stringers being in Liberia to file stories to foreign newspapers and radio stations, there is still a need for a government owned Ministry of Information and a news agency.
They can counter all distorted and anti-government propaganda launch against our government by you and your likes. They will also report the good, clean developmental stories in the country and inform the world of other important activities undertaken by the government. The foreign press in general is interested in gory, depreciating and distorted stories about Liberia and all the misinformation as well. The Ministry of Information is a valuable public relations arm of the government.
You, Tarty Teh once defended the need for a government owned news agency and Ministry of Information. You even worked at MICAT while there. Didn't you promote the efforts of government? We are not interested in digging your past which landed you at Belle Yella, that notorious prison camp.
You know deep within your heart that there will always be a need for MICAT in order to counter all negative information and dispel all misinformation that you and other enemies of the government are spreading out there. You have sold your country for thirty pieces of silver.
Because we do not see the need for by-lines we do not attach them to our stories. It does
not imply that we are afraid to be known but that we are making concerted efforts to
ensure the success of our web site not caring for individual glorification. We will allow
sleeping dog to lie.
It can not be out of fear of being identified with the government and this government is steadily growing from strength to strength and will survive the entire twelve years modestly projected by our president to remain in power. Ruminate this.
The Editor-In-Chief, LINA
