Welcome To My Pit

Welcome fellow Irving fans and anyone else who happens upon this page. My name is Theresa and I hail from Seattle, Washington...an actual born and raised! (Not too many left!) I started this page on August 1, 1997 more as a tribute to Owen Meany than anything else, but may add some of my other interests in the future. Special thanks go to Barb and Ben for their inspiration; my love goes to Tammy for her patience and unlimited assistance, and to her this page is dedicated.

Hobbies and Interests: Reading, writing, (no rithmetic), my family and my frog Tad...not especially in this order.

This page is obviously under severe construction!!

To get you started, though, here are a couple links.... Irving, John Owen Meany Tea (in case you haven't caught my drift)

Construction will continue for a while since I'm getting married in August and haven't the time to work on it much....I hope to bring to you the fabulous world of John Irving (especially my fav book of all times A Prayer for Owen Meany), planning your own wedding in 30 days or less for under $400.00, raising a tadpole to a full grown frog and other things that may come to mind, deranged or not....I will answer any and all EMail ASAP. Thanks for your continued support!!

(Not exactly what I wanted, but you can't imagine how difficult it is to find a dressmaker's dummy on the web)

I should tell you a bit about why Owen Meany is so special to me. My best reading buddy passed away in 1988, shortly before A Prayer for Owen Meany came out. We had shared all of John Irving's previous works and it was very hard for me to read Irving's greatest work, not being able to share it with my buddy; my Dad.

All OM fans know that it takes a certain intellect and open-mindedness to not only understand the book (am I allowed to call it that?) but to hold it in their hearts and cherish it forever. It took many years for me to find someone to discuss this work of art with; I found these people on AOL some nine years later.

Thank-you Karen, Beth, Heather, Tamera and everyone else at the JI post board...you have helped me heal and I love you all!
