Mary Alice ONEAL MAGBY b 1865 Karnes Co, TX

It is believed this photo was taken at time of marriage of Wesley & Alice ONEAL MAGBY, my grandparents, in 1880 Bee Co, TX.
William Riley MASSENGALE was one of the famed “Texas Trail Drivers.” An account of one of his trips has been published in 1915, a book titled
“The Trail Drivers of Texas” by J Marvin Hunter.
William MASSENGALE married Mary Jane RICKS ONEAL, a widow , 1869 in Karnes Co, TX. She lost her first husband, Reatas ONEAL in1868. Reatas & his father Attas ONEAL were driving a herd of hogs to market when they ate spoiled meat & it killed them.
Mary Alice ONEAL was three when her father died & her sister Lavina was only one. They were both raised by William MASSENGALE with his & Mary Jane's children. .
