There are several graves with rocks as markers and several with out a rock, but information from family members have helped in recording this, and also Betty Turley of Charleston, WV. visited and recorded it in 1994.

The land that this cemetery is on, orginally belonged to David T. Hackney and his family. His first recorded deed was in 1851. Part of his land was of Roane Co. before that county was formed in 1865, it extended near Cicerone. The Jackson County and Roane County line went through his property.
