GEORGE W. BOGGESS

George W. Boggess was born in Kanawha County, W (VA) February 1833, son of George A. Boggess and Elizabeth DERRICK, grandson of George and Jane HAYNES. They were all of Botetourt Co. Va.
George Sr. and Jane married 8/22/1793 in Botetourt Co. and George and Elizabeth married in Kanawha County W(VA) 7/17/1827, and were there by 1815.
George W. Boggess their son, was married Jan. 4, 1855 in Putnam Co. W(VA) to Martha Mildred (SMITH), in her parents home. They were Robert McCoy Smith and Melinda GOOD. The Smith family was of Botetourt Co. VA also.
George and Martha moved into Jackson Co. W(VA) by 1858 and lived there till their deaths, Martha died Dec. 31, 1911 and George died April 14, 1916 both in Jackson Co. and they are buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley, WV.
By the Jackson County census records, from 1860-1910 it shows them living in Sandyville Dist. Gilmore Township, Ravenswood Dist. and Ripley Dist. at Hargrove.
George and Martha had five known children:
1. Mary Elizabeth born 10/10/1855 in Kanawha Co. W(VA) and died 8/1/1870 in Jackson Co. WV.
2. Squire Early born 1/12/1857 Kanawha Co. died 10/24/1934 in Roane Co. WV. He married #1 Susan V. HARTLEY, 11/11/1880. She was the daughter of Thomas B. and Susan CARDER Hartley, #2 wife was Lucy Virginia BAILEY 9/20/1899, she was the daughter of Dr. A. G. & Emma PHELPS.
3. Perry A. born 11/30/1858 Jackson Co. died 3/12/1934 married 10/4/1888 to Ida HARTLEY Tibble, Ida was born 1853 daughter of Thomas B. and Susan CARDER.
4. William R. born 11/4/1860 Jackson Co. died 2/10/1940. He married 9/29/1888 to Elena P. PARRISH. She was born 1869 died 1946. Both are buried at Pine Hill.
5. Emily Josephine born 10/17/1863 Jackson Co. died 4/1/1906 Roane Co. married 10/20/1881 to Thomas STINE. Emily is buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Thomas was born in OH in 1856 son of Rufas and Morgan Stine. He died in 1954 in Washington DC. buried in Monroe, Co. OH.
