Mahl and Associates Eye Care Centers are committed to offering the finest medical, surgical, and patient care to the community. We began when Charles F. Mahl, M.D., opened a practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of the retina, vitreous, and macula. The practice has grown to include many highly-trained physicians with various subspecialties. Although the practice is ever-changing, our goal is not. That goal is to provide the highest quality patient care possible within the realm of contemporary, comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology.

Our office is conveniently located on Scottsville Road in the Thoroughbred Square Shopping Center (Next to Rafferty's Restaurant and Blockbuster Video).

JOHN N. GILLESPIE, M.D.
Dr. John N. Gillespie graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Nutrition and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. He completed his medical internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN and his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious and world famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, National Board of Medical Examiners, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, International Society of Refractive Surgery, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmology, an Associate Clinical Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical School and Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He has been actively practicing full time since 1985. He specializes in cataract/implant surgery, refractive surgery (RK,PRK,LASIK), cosmetic surgery, and glaucoma. With a particular interest in nutritional prevention of many ocular disorders, Dr Gillespie participates in many ongoing research and latest therapeutic trials of many "nutraceuticals". www.i-care.net
