Memorial Page for Ken Grandell
The Fire Call
Saturday night, July 17th, 1999 at 2052, a call was placed to a 911 operator to report smoke from a neighbor's house, which has been abandoned for a few years now. Ken, along with his unit, Engine 22, was one of several units which responded to this incident. While investigating the fire, he and his crew fell through a rotted floor. Ken landed across beams and was killed instantly. His funeral procession was held on July 24th, 1999.
As you read "Behind the Scenes", you know that I base LCFD events on real life events. While finding out of another friend's death, I was also informed of Ken's death.
I will attempt to contact his family and learn more details concerning him, his life, and his death. This page is dedicated to an old aquatence, Ken Grandell. May he rest in peace.
Ken Grandell's Junior Yearbook Picture
Ken was someone I had known for years in school. Ken was killed in an automobile accident on the 4th of July weekend, 1990. He is missed by many, including myself. May he rest in peace.
