I may just buy them from you for my personal collection. If you know of the existence of Schoolhouse Rock merchandise that is not listed below, email me at the address at the bottom of this page. Schoolhouse Rock Books:

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! The Official Guide
by Tom Yohe and George Newall.
The back cover says it all....

"Conjunction Junction, What's Your Function?"

If you don't recognize those five little words, then you weren't camped out in front of your television set every Saturday morning from 1973 to 1985. Those catchy, jazzy tunes from Schoolhouse Rock taught millions of us the fundamentalsof math, grammar, science, and history. We learned how a bill becomes a law in I'm Just A Bill, the planets of our solar system in Interplanet Janet, how to turn an adjective into a perfectly good adverb in Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Get Your Adverbs Here, and we unknowingly memorized the Preamble to the Constitution!
A blast from the past, SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! The Official Guide includes all the unforgettable lyrics and memorable moments from the forty original segments...
Sprinkled with facts and behind-the-scene trivia, SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! The Official Guide is the must-have book for every fan who wants to relive this beloved, pop culture sensation.

Schoolhouse Rock on Video

Schoolhouse Rock is available on DVD.  The 30th Anniversary Edition is available as of August 27, 2002

Schoolhouse Rock has had five different releases on video.

The first 4-tape set was in the late 1980's. It was released under Golden Book and was hosted by Cloris Leachman and a group of kids. The boxes are blue and this set included "The Weather Show."

The second set was issued in 1991(?) and is the same as the first set with the exception that the graphics on the boxes changed.

The third set was issued in 1995(?) and was hosted by Schoolhouse Rocky. The graphics on the boxes were again changed. Due to legal difficulties, beginning with this third set, "The Weather Show" no longer is included on the tapes.

The fourth set was the 25th Anniversary Edition (1998) by Disney. The content is the same as the third set. This set is in large clamshell boxes with the prominent Disney logo. This set included the fifth tape on the series, "Money Rock." The first time the Money Rock songs were available on video.

The fifth video release is a 30th Anniversary collection of the 25 fan favorites episodes.  It is available as of August 27, 2002.

"Scooter Computer and Mr. Chips" episodes have only been released on the DVD and only 3 of the 4 are on the DVD.

Schoolhouse Rock on CD

The first release was in 1973. Only the songs from Multiplication Rock were included on the LP and was released by Capitol Records (SJA-11174). It was discontinued in 1989. Both of the original versions of Three is a Magic Number and My Hero, Zero are included on this LP.

The second release of the music was a compilation of favorites recreated by alternative rock musicians. The CD is entitled, "Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks" (1996). It is distributed by Lava Records a division of Atlantic (92681-2). This CD is in stores now. In my opinion the songs are very well done.

The third incarnation of the music is in the box set. The set contains four CDs and is the first time all the music has been released to the public. The set includes the four songs from the Scooter Computer and Mr. Chips series and four of the "Money Rock" songs. Included in this set are the full length original versions of Three is a Magic Number and My Hero, Zero. If you have never heard them, the set is worth it just for those two songs. It was released by Kid Rhino. It is available in music stores now. The set also comes with a booklet chronicling the creation of Schoolhouse Rock along with biographical information on all the principal members of the creative team. This is a must have for any fan!!!

NOTE: This set was released in two different styles. The first is a spiral bound notebook, like something a student would carry with them to class. The second is a Schoolhouse Rock lunch box (very cool!). The CDs are listed on the packaging as the same in both sets. However, in my lunch box set, I did not get the same set as the notebook. I got copies of the four individual releases(see below).

The fourth incarnation of the music is separate CDs for each topic issued by Rhino records. They are listed as Grammar Rock (72612), Science Rock (72616), America Rock (72614), and Multiplication Rock (72610). I found them at a store for $9.99 each. They do not include any extra songs that were not included in the box set.

The fifth incarnation is "Schoolhouse Rocks the Vote." (R2-7551 Rhino 1998) This CD contains several Schoolhouse Rock songs along with several Schoolhouse Rock-like songs. It was produced as a benefit for Rock The Vote.

The sixth incarnation, "The Best of Schoolhouse Rock," (R2-75315 Rhino 1998) contains the 11 songs considered the best of Schoolhouse Rock along with the remaining unreleased "Money Rock" tracks.
