Mark Allen
Mark Allen

Lead Vocals and Guitar

Born in northeast Indiana, Mark Allen taught himself not only to play nine different instruments, but had also studied operatic styles of voice by the age of 17. Nothing would prevent Mark from doing what he loved, even if it meant spending his breaks in the restrooms of the clubs he performed in, because he was under the age limit to be in the bar area. Mark moved to California in search of his dreams, after many years of touring Canada, the Northeast and Southern United States with various bands.

After living in Los Angeles for just a short time, he landed a recording contract, guest appearances on a variety of albums, including performing background vocals on "The Paul Shortino Band" CD, and many sessions for television and radio. His television performances include singing the main title themes for such cartoons as "The New Adventures of Speed Racer", "Guardians of the Cosmos", and "The Fantastic Voyages of Sinbad", as well as, a recent spot session for ABC's sitcom 'Dharma & Greg'. He has also delved into scoring short films and composed and recorded many inspiring instrumental pieces.

Mark formed the Mark Allen Band wanting to expand and express himself in other ways musically. His melodic guitar playing and strong tenor voice are just part of the chemistry making up the Mark Allen Band.

Mark Allen has always been one to state that "music should never have to make you think". That's the feeling you get from listening to the way he writes for the Mark Allen Band. You just feel great!
