PLOT SYNOPSIS

"Lawrence Gray played a songwriting heel in Children Of Pleasure, completely oblivious of the love being bestowed on him by pretty Helen Johnson. He only has eyes for heiress Wynne Gibson who has agreed to marry him but, after overhearing her telling a friend that she regards their impending marriage as nothing more than an experiment, he changes his mind and - you guessed it - abandons her for patient little Helen."
- Clive Hirschhorn, The Hollywood Musical

NOTES

"A brisk little musical about the songwriting fraternity. . ."
- Clive Hirschhorn, The MGM Story

"Children Of Pleasure was a fast failure, a late entry in a played-out genre."
- Richard Barrios, A Song In The Dark

The screenplay was adapted from the stage play The Songwriter by Crane Wilbur.
