PLOT SYNOPSIS

"Another campus musical, but this time set in Spain, In Gay Madrid starred heartthrob Ramon Novarro, whose amorous exploits result in his being sent from Madrid to Santiago, where his father hopes he will settle down and study. But there are pretty girls in Santiago, too - especially Carmina (Dorothy Jordan), and in no time at all lover boy is wooing her with half a dozen romantic ballads."
- Clive Hirschhorn, The Hollywood Musical

NOTES

"Competent performances. . .with a screenplay. . .and direction (by Robert Z. Leonard) to match, all added up to a pleasing, lightweight entertainment."
- Clive Hirschhorn, The Hollywood Musical

"Unreal story, poor acting, ditto direction and general lack of popular appeal."
- Variety
