Tales of Younger Jupiter Episode 1 Prologue The soft voices were coming from the women sitting on a bench from where they observed the subject of their conversation and her charge. "It'll happen soon." "I know. Don't worry, she will be fine." "She'll hate me." "No she won't. If anything she will be angry at another." "You mean? Probably, I still don't trust her." Chapter 1 The day had been nice and bright. Then he came along. She should be used to this now seeing how Small Lady was his daughter but she had been enjoying Small Lady's company. It might seem selfish to some but then they wouldn't understand what he done to her. she thought as she walked to her office. "Good morning, Madam," said the subdued computer voice. "Good morning, RH," she replied after taking a seat at her desk. "You were scheduled to be with the Princess this morning. What has prompted this change, Sweet'm?" The subdued tone vanished and a slightly high male voice replaced it. "RH," she growled in warning. "Oh, it was him again wasn't it?" The subdued tone came back. "Yes, that self pompous... Anyway one of the others is watching her. So how's the hostile takeover going?" "Very well, we are holding ninety-eight percent of all stock." She was just about to respond when RH interrupted again, "Correction... One hundred percent of all stock. The little old lady from Pasadena just kicked the bucket. How could you acquire all of my manufacture's stock and then shut down the company?" "I'm not shutting down the company, run `president' program." "Certainly." Just then a klaxon went off. Taking off out of the room she started running down the hallway, then the world went black in a burst of light and the sensation of heat. ****** The first thing to make itself felt was a heavy pressure. It was lying across her chest pressing down. To discover what it was she had to feel with her hands. It was dark and her head hurt. It sounded like a cannon had gone off in it. What was lying on top of her was warm and soft. Feeling around a little confirmed that the person that was holding her down was female. Thankfully the woman was still alive. Wriggling free was tricky because she was trying not to move the weight on top of you. After struggling with it for several minutes, she managed to get free and gently lower the woman's unconscious form to the floor. Peering around showed that part of the wall had been blown in. A thick acrid smoke poured in through the opening obscuring everything. Getting oriented as best she could the young woman started off down the nearest passageway. She found some people milling about unsure as to what happened. She didn't have time to help them. Her duty lay with another; pressing on she came to an intersection and paused to listen. A faint sound from her left sounded like a voice shouting something then another much smaller shouting something. Bursting into action she flew down the passage way. As she came closer she noticed Sailor Pluto holding her eyes. Wisps of pink smoke trailing from her face. Off in the distance Small Lady was running through a doorway. Leaving for the moment Sailor Pluto to fend for herself, she chased after her charge. When she reached the room that Small Lady had run into all she saw was a portal of light, motion, and color. Approaching the portal slowly, she just caught a glimpse of Small Lady. Making a decision she dove in after her. As she lost sight of Small Lady, she was assaulted by a sever wind that blew down the timestream. What happened next wasn't very clear. One moment she was falling through the timestream. The next minute she was headed towards the ground from several feet up. Luckily the treetop she fell through slowed her fall enough for the landing only to knock the wind out of her. Laying on the ground in a undignified position she waited for the drumming in her head to stop. Noting that she was in bushes gave her a little comfort. Crawling out of the bushes she crouched and looked around. The city itself was definitely different. the logical part of her brain said. She'd find Small Lady and then be hysterical about being where she wasn't supposed to be. With a cautious look around she shifted to a civilian form and stood up. Checking over herself she noted she was still wearing her business suit from that morning. The skirt was a little rumpled but easily fixed. Checking to make sure her hair didn't contain any twigs or the like, she set out to find Small Lady and get out of here. The day was bright and sunny. Children were playing and young couples were enjoying each other's company to one degree or another. This however didn't lighten the woman's spirits. she thought. Finding no sign of where Small Lady was, she decided that gathering some information was in order. First she knew she was in Tokyo because of the Tokyo Tower that was standing in the skyline. After some patience waiting, she acquired a newspaper from a garbage can and looked for the date. Tossing the newspaper back she headed off in a random direction. She needed to think and she might find Small Lady. After several minutes of deep thought, she came up with what she considered at least a decent plan. After finding what these people considered phones and spending another few frustrating minutes puzzling over how the phone book worked, she found who she was looking for. Noting the address she oriented herself by looking at a street sign and set off in the right direction. After an hour's walking she caught sight of the Tsukino home. Looking around she noted a nearby house that provided a good place to observe. Walking down the street a little further, she ducked into an alley and changed to her Senshi form. After the transformation was complete, she bounded up to the rooftops and made her way back. Sitting on the roof she watched the Tsukino home. After a little bit her patient waiting was rewarded when a young girl came walking down the street with a black cat beside her. "Hello, My Queen," she said quietly. ****** "Can you believe it, Luna? The Fungus landed on me and then attacked me with a dart gun," Usagi said loudly. She wasn't pleased at all that her date with her Mamo-chan was spoiled by some bratty kid. "And what did Mamoru say?" Luna asked. She was only partially listening. Usually Usagi's dates with Mamoru didn't interest her but it wasn't every day that a seven year old girl falls on top of your head and then demands the Ginzuishou. "Mamoru thought that she might be part of my family." With this said Usagi gave a derisive snort and turned into the front yard. Luna said, "I don't think she is part of your family. I can't remember you having any siblings." ****** The Senshi sitting on top of the roof observed this with some delight. "Your both wrong and your both right," she muttered as the pair entered the house and the door was closed. Settling down for a long night she prepared to wait and watch. She couldn't see much because of her position but whenever Usagi yelled she could quite clearly hear every word. She also knew who they were directed at. In one sense she wished she could go in there and just simplify matters but that would be irresponsible and dangerous to say the least. So she was stuck, for the present, to make sure that Small Lady was safe. She heard a couple of voices and looked over toward the source. It was the two cats on the roof. she swore to herself. Moving as quickly as possible she hid behind the peak of the roof and tried to listen in on the conversation taking place. It wasn't any good though she just couldn't hear their low voices. Shifting a bit she once again settled down for a long night. Chapter 2 She let out a tremendous yawn as she huddled in the cold morning air. Usually the cold wouldn't effect her so much in her Senshi form but she was also damp from the morning dew. She had spent most of that night considering the supplies she'd need and how she was going to get them. The main problem was she didn't have money. Oh she had money, the only problem was it was useless here. she thought. This particular problem had a solution. She just wished she had a different choice in the matter. Getting up an stretching she'd take care of necessary things and come back and follow Small Lady to school. "Small Lady, when we get home you're going to wish you never came back to the past," she vowed softly. ****** "Usagi-chan, you have to go to school," Ikuko said to the little girl that was standing there defiantly. Ikuko thought. "Please! I don't want to go to school! Can't I stay home?" Usagi-chan said. "Certainly not. Now get ready. I'll take you down there and enroll you in the second grade." Ikuko wondered what type of values this girl's mother had instilled in her. After several minutes of more argument and some rather plain threats of dire consequences if Usagi-chan didn't come along, Ikuko dragged the still protesting Usagi-chan out of the house. "Chibi-Usa-chan?" Ikuko finally said. Ikuko thought. This seemed like her daughter's first day of school rather then this little girl's first day at a temporary school. Chibi-Usa for her part wasn't happy about going to school. School meant you had to sit there and behave. Ikuko calling her `Chibi-Usa-chan' brought her back. "Yes?" she said in a sulky tone of voice. She was still mad that she was being forced to go to school. She should be looking for the Ginzuishou. "What's your mother's name?" Ikuko said. "Serenity," Chibi-Usa said. That's when it dawned on her exactly what was going on. "Serenity? You know for the life of me I can't seem to remember which side of the family you come from." Thinking quickly Chibi-Usa said, "I'm a distant cousin." "Oh, I'll have to see if I can find your mother's address." Luna-P which had been following a short distance in back seemed to heave a mighty sigh. It was going to be busy for the next little while, it just knew it. ****** The night air was clear and promised a nice day tomorrow. As it was just after supper the streets were filling for the early evening activities that one could participate in. However there was one young girl who was not participating at the moment and she was plotting how to get back at someone while she did her homework. Artemis entered Minako's bedroom. "What are you doing?" he asked. Minako was sitting at her desk furiously scribbling with her pencil. "Don't play dumb with me. You know perfectly well what I'm doing!" Artemis blinked, "I do?" "Yes you do. And it's your fault I'm doing it instead of going shopping with Mako-chan," Minako said this last with venom, slamming down the pencil she whirled on the highly confused Artemis and snarled, "Why'd you have to go and show them it?!" Artemis was now confused beyond any hope of figuring it out. "Minako, would please tell me what's got you so upset?" As he said this he took a couple of steps back as Minako got out of her chair. "Why'd you go and show my parents that stupid test? I had it all worked out. Now before I go out my parents want me to show them my completed homework." Artemis had forgot about that. He hadn't done it on purpose. He and Luna were discussing their charges lack of motivations when it involved school work, at least that's what he told Minako when she had spotted Luna leaving. Actually he and Luna had been having an excellent game of bat the ball but he wasn't about to tell Minako that. Minako's mother had come in and had found the crumpled test paper that was being used as the ball. Just as Artemis was about to defend himself, the radio which at this point had been quietly playing music suddenly switched to a newscast. "This just in. A daring bank robbery took place in broad daylight. Although the police will not release any information gathered at this time, witnesses that we talked to seemed to indicate that it was one of the Sailor Senshi." Both Artemis and Minako gaped at the radio. After a few minutes Minako said, "I think we need to make sure the others know about this." "Agreed, but how that would occur is simply not possible. I mean all of you were in school. Weren't you?" The last part of Artemis' reply got him tossed out the window. ****** She was now on the roof and just a little more comfortable for her little side trip today. She had followed Small Lady and Ikuko to school. She had got a kick out of listening to Ikuko trying to convince Small Lady that enrolling in the local school was very important. She knew well enough that school and Small Lady didn't get along. Then again who could blame her with having to endure Mercury's lessons all by herself. She had got back from her side trip well before school let out and she followed Small Lady and Ikuko back home. Ikuko had asked her small guest how the school day was and Small Lady had promptly said that school was boring and she didn't want to go again. Once at home again things got a little hairy. First Usagi came back home and left again in record time. Then Small Lady started to follow. The real problem was that Small Lady followed Usagi to the Senshi's usual meeting place. Sitting on the roof had seemed like a good idea at the time. `At the time' being the operative words, when something strange happened. An energy beam erupted out of the roof and hit her square in the chest. This had a duel effect of knocking her off of the roof and flinging her several feet backwards. By the time she got there, Sailor Moon was fighting someone and that blasted Tuxedo Kamen was there as well. She had been deciding whether or not to interfere but realized that it wasn't really a situation where she could easily do it. So now she was watching the house again but in a little more comfort, having got a blanket, and munching on some take out food. Hearing someone complaining loudly she peeked over the roof ridge. Seeing Sailor Moon leap out of her bedroom window and take off down the street with Luna in tow seemed to prove her wrong. She waited for a little bit. After a few minutes thinking that her charge wasn't going to follow, she was proved partially wrong again as Small Lady and the rest of the Tsukino family left the house. "I can't believe Usagi passed up ice cream," sneered her bother. Deciding that Small Lady would be safe for the moment she went after Sailor Moon. So she proceeded to trail Sailor Moon. This wasn't hard considering Sailor Moon kept falling. It was almost as painful watching as it must be to the person falling. she asked herself. After rounding a corner she realized that Sailor Moon was headed for the locale where she had taken her little side trip. Better make sure they don't find anything there that might make them start looking for me. ****** "I'm here. Where's the bad guy?" Sailor Moon said hotly. She wasn't happy that she was missing out on ice cream. "We're not here to fight. We're her to see if we can find out why witnesses say they saw one of us rob a bank," said Mercury as she typed away at her computer. "Maybe it's Zoisite's ghost?" Mars had just about open her mouth to obviously insult Sailor Moon when Mercury mumbled something. Mars who had been close enough to hear looked from Mercury to Jupiter and back again. Getting an evil glint in her eye she looked at Jupiter and said, "So Jupiter were you on a date?" "How'd you know?" Jupiter asked. She was none to pleased at being called away either; he was such a cute guy. Mercury hearing Jupiter's response looked up with a puzzled look on her face. "You were on date? Interesting, I'll have to run some tests to see if the same effect happens when the others are on dates." "What effect?" Jupiter said. She wasn't happy that she was missing the point and more importantly her date. "This area is um..." Mercury trailed off as if not knowing how to put it politely. "This area is WHAT?!" Jupiter was starting to get annoyed now. "It appears that the effect of your date is that you're flooding the area with your power signature. I can't get good readings on anything," Mercury said in rush, "So could you maybe move down the block?" Mars and Venus burst out laughing. Moon thought. Jupiter for her part was sputtering, "BAKA!! I think your computer is broken Mercury." "No you're causing the interference. Strange I wonder why Moon never did this when she was on a date with Tuxedo Kamen..." This last bit was said mainly to herself but the others heard. ****** She chortled quietly to herself. She was having a hard time controlling her laughter. The sheer confusion of the scene below was just the thing she needed to lighten her mood. That's when fate decided that her mood was too light. Her battle instincts warned her that something was behind her. Whirling around she spotted him. Cursing softly to herself she took off in the opposite direction. She'd really love to hurt him but she couldn't do it here with the Senshi nearby. ****** Tuxedo Kamen had felt Usagi transform. He had been delayed since he couldn't get out of work earlier. When he got to the scene he had spotted someone dressed like a Senshi. He didn't recognize her. She appeared older, this alone raised concerns. This strange person noticed him. He couldn't make out the face in the gloom but he felt the hostile look she gave him. She had taken off and he started to follow hoping to find out who she was. Something in the back of his mind was screaming at him that this smelled like a trap. He didn't listen though he had got out of situations before. She reached the end of the roof line and turned to meet him. He could see the feature more clearly now. He never got the chance to finish his thought. Without speech or warning he was slammed in the chest with a fist. Electricity entered him and he cried out as he was thrown back. Skidding across the roof to the other side he took stock of himself. Only slightly winded he scrambled to his feet. His opponent was still there. "Who are you?!" he growled out. Her answer was a flicking hand motion. He had to dodge as what appeared as miniature lightning bolts flew towards his position. He returned fire. He didn't want to hurt her but she was proving very dangerous. She was not happy; he was quick for his size. She'd seen him fight before. She had to drop her point attack to raise a barrier to block the roses. That's when he jumped up into the air and was about to strike her. she answered immediately by dropping the barrier. This allowed the one remaining rose to get hit her. She grunted in pain as the rose hit her arm and it started to draw blood. Dodging left she let Tuxedo Kamen overextend himself. He had seen that coming and compensated. Now both combatants were standing facing each other about ten feet apart. He readied another rose. Throwing it to distract her he had intended to leap behind her and restrain her. That didn't happen though. She was furious. She served him but what does he do! Ignoring the rose speeding its way toward her, she made a garbing motion and spoke the command words, "Ki no Denki!" Long vines shot toward and rapped themselves around Tuxedo Kamen. She gave a mighty yank and brought him back to the roof. As the vines made contact they allowed powerful energy to flow. Tuxedo Kamen screamed in pain. He hadn't felt anything like this. Then it stopped all of a sudden. Laying there trying desperately to stay conscious he saw the women advance toward him. "I have a oath to keep. I am a friend of the Senshi. I was a friend of yours. It was your actions that pushed me away." With that blackness took him. ****** Mamoru groaned, sitting upright in bed he wondered where he was for a minute. Looking quickly around he noticed that he was in his apartment. he asked himself. He couldn't remember coming back home after that fight. Or was that a dream? He heard the woman's words echo through his head, "I was a friend of yours." But he didn't remember her. he asked himself. "I was a friend of yours. It was your actions that pushed me away." "What did I do?" Mamoru asked out loud. His only answer was the sounds of traffic outside. Chapter 3 Four days later she found herself enjoying the shower she was taking. Humming to herself, she stretched a little as she let the water of the shower flow over her and warm some of the colder parts. The family whose house she had been camping on, had gone on vacation. One of them was nice enough to leave a window unlocked so she had come in to wash up a bit. She had no real intention of occupying the house for any length of time. She just wanted to relax and work out some of the kinks. Sleeping on a roof can be a dangerous and cramping thing to do. she thought as she stepped out of the shower. Drying off she let her mind wander back. Following Small Lady secretively was turning out to be harder then first thought. Small Lady tended to sneak out at different times all alone. That morning Usagi had to go and find her in the park. she asked. She had observed Mamoru and Small Lady together. Something strange happened to him. Whatever it was, it had the effect of forcing Mamoru to break up with Usagi. This considerably annoyed her. Also it didn't help that Small Lady actually liked Mamoru. When they were together it was hard to keep an eye on her. Yes Small Lady's father was probably capable of protecting her. "But if Mamoru could be beat by a Senshi, what else could he be beat by?" she wondered out loud. Getting dressed again she considered whether to go back up on the roof or do something else. Deciding to take a look around she wonder around the house. She found what looked like a child's bedroom. Sitting down she looked out the window. she thought. The window had a clear view of the Tsukino house. ****** Chibi-Usa was not terrorizing Usagi. In fact she was puzzled over what Mamoru had done. She wanted Mamoru to be her boyfriend but he didn't have to make Usagi cry about it. As she passed the closed door to Usagi's room, she could hear a muffled noise and a twinge of guilt went through her. It vanished though, maybe if she let Usagi have a date with Mamoru, she'd give her the Ginzuishou. Chibi-Usa thought, With that Chibi-Usa slipped into Shingo's empty room and began hunting his manga. Usagi for her part was ignoring the homework she was supposed to be doing. In stead she was alternating between moping, scribbling things on a pieces of paper and muttering acrid things about `the Fungus'. ****** Makoto opened her stepped into her home and shut the door. Looking around she noted how empty it really was. She had plants that she could talk to but they didn't respond. She wasn't about to talk to furniture. These were the nights that she felt most alone. Taking off her jacket she started to make some supper then decided not to. She enjoyed cooking but with only herself she couldn't go all out. Well she could be sometimes, like now, she just didn't want to feed Usagi. What she wanted most was someone to talk to. Someone she could cook for. It didn't have to be a boyfriend just someone that would she'd be able to hang around with and discuss stuff besides Senshi business. Sitting down on the couch she thought some more. The other girls were great friends but there was something that Makoto wanted, something she wished to have more than anything else. She wanted a family. Chapter 4 A few days later the family whose house she was camping on came back from vacation. It had rained the day before so the roof was a little damp but she wouldn't complain. She had certainly enjoyed the use of the house while the family was away. Things between her Queen and that low-life Mamoru were degenerating further. She noted her charge was leaving the house and headed for school. Getting up she trailed Small Lady from the street this time in civilian form. Small Lady seemed to be enjoying school more. The snippets she could catch appeared to indicate that Small Lady was enjoying herself and liked the company of the other children. She found that when Small Lady was in school was the toughest waiting period. She didn't have anyone to talk to and those tree branches were rough. ****** Luna padded a well worn route to Minako's window. Finding it open to let in some air she entered and looked around for Artemis. She didn't see him, however, she heard a grunting noises. Making her way towards the noises she hoped on the bed. The noises were coming on the other side of the room. "Artemis? Are you here?" Luna called out. "Mmfffmmmun," was her only response. Reaching the side of the bed she peered down. A smile pulled at her face and then she started to chuckle. There was Artemis trussed up like a pig in a ball of yarn. Shaking her head she jumped off the bed and landed neatly on the floor. "What on earth happened to you?" Luna asked. She couldn't help laughing at the sight of a very indignant Artemis struggling to get out of the yarn. "MMMMMFFRRADD!!" Artemis glared at her. "Don't use that language on me!" Luna took on a hurt air. She was smiling internally though. After several minutes in which Artemis struggled to free himself, Luna relented and helped him out of the yarn. Artemis seemed none too pleased that help arrived when it did but didn't say anything. "Would you like to explain to me what happened?" "Minako got mad at me. Somehow she convinced her mother to give me a ball of yarn," Artemis said sheepishly. "I couldn't resist. I haven't had a good go with the yarn since we left England." Luna was horrified. Playing bat the ball with another cat was one thing stooping to playing with yarn was another. "I came over here to discuss some strange things that I've been feeling over by Usagi's house. I thought they were coming from the new arrival but the feeling indicates that it's outside the house." "What would you like me to do?" Artemis asked. He was happy they were not discussing his private playing habits. "It seems to vanish when I go looking for it. I want you to come by but from a different way. See if you can see anything." "Any particular time?" "Later tonight." "Okay I'll be there." With that Luna went out the window with a parting comment to the effect that Artemis should keep away from the yarn. There was no response. ****** She had been following Small Lady casually when her charge had stopped to talk to Mercury. she thought, She watched as Small Lady and Ami went to get some ice cream. She'd like some too. When Small Lady and Ami sat down to eat their ice cream she slipped over and ordered herself one. Taking up a casual spot to observe she enjoyed her ice cream. She had been wondering what to do. Her concern had started to rise when Pluto hadn't come back for them. She did happen to catch a glimpse of a key around her charges neck but she was unsure of how to use it. For some reason Small Lady couldn't figure out that Usagi was her mother. she thought. "Speak of the devil," she muttered as Usagi approached Small Lady and Ami. She couldn't hear them clearly without making it obvious that she was listening in. Small Lady seemed to want to stay with Ami but she finally went along with Usagi. Turning around she pretended that she wasn't there. Both girls seemed to ignore her. After waiting for them to go a little ways away, she started to follow them again. ****** Chibi-Usa thought. She had thought for a brief moment that the young woman that she and Usagi had passed looked familiar. Chibi-Usa thought, letting out a little sniff. Usagi looked down at the noise. "What's the matter?" Usagi asked in a quiet tone. She was trying to be nice. Her mother wanted her to be nice so she'd try. "Nothing, meat-for-brains." That was the spark that set off the powder keg. Watching from a distance she hadn't heard Usagi's question but she definitely heard Small Lady's response. She was dearly wishing at the moment that Usagi knew who Small Lady was but she couldn't say a thing. It was starting to get on her nerves. Watching them argue she decided that they could look after themselves for awhile. She needed to find a place to simply sit and think. After walking around for awhile she spotted what look like a soda shop above some arcade. Deciding that a soda shop would be a good place to think she headed towards it. she thought, That last thought struck her as funny. Her grandmother was only fifteen during this time period. she mused as she head into the Crown Arcade and up the steps. As she sat back and sipped a drink her mind wandered back to the last time she was in a soda shop. That had been the last day that she'd seen Maia outside of school. They had talked about Maia's trip to, she thought. She couldn't really remember, it had been so long ago. ****** Motoki had been eating lunch out of habit. He was deep in thought over the letter the Reika had just sent him. It was highly depressing. By the sounds of the letter she was having a wonderful time and didn't seem to miss him. He knew he was being silly but it was still depressing. That's when he had noticed the flash of reddish-brown hair walk by him. Turning he saw a woman that looked like Makoto. She stood around six feet and had an athletic build. Her hair was reddish-brown and hung long on her not like Makoto's. As she sat down and ordered he noted that her eyes were brown. But what made her look like Makoto was the face. There was something about that face that reminded him of the young girl. Motoki suddenly became aware that he was staring at her. Motoki thought to himself. His mind wouldn't let the sight rest though. Motoki took another glance over to where that young woman was sitting and noticed a sad expression on her face. Motoki guessed her age must be about twenty-two. Motoki asked himself. Motoki pushed that thought to the back. Of course he was happy with Reika. He liked Makoto. He thought of her as a younger sister. This young woman sitting in the booth looked similar. Deciding that his mind wouldn't let him alone he got up and taking his drink over approached the young woman's table. ****** She hadn't been aware of his approach which shook her slightly. She didn't let the thought continue as she saw that he looked cute. she asked herself. "Excuse me," Motoki said, he felt like he did when he tried to first ask Reika out. "Would you mind if I joined you?" Silently she indicated the seat across from her. Motoki didn't need any prompting and sat down. Motoki forcefully shoved that thought to the back of his mind he was perfectly happy with Reika, wasn't he? "Let me introduce myself I am Furuhata Motoki. Please call me Motoki." As he said this he noticed that there were little specks of green in her eyes. She was aware that he was staring at her. "I'm pleased to meet you Motoki-san, I'm Rakurai Sakuya, please call me Sako, my friends do." As Sakuya thought this she let out a long sigh. "What's wrong, Sako-chan?" Motoki asked. She seemed to be smiling at him but now she looked even more depressed. "I can't date you," Sakuya said distractedly. Motoki blinked, had he heard her right? "Pardon, did you say that you couldn't date me?" Nodding slowly Sakuya said, "Yes Motoki-san, I'm afraid I did. You're cute and I'd like to but I can't." "Um..." was all Motoki could get out. "Sako-chan, I already have a girlfriend," Motoki finally said. He had been expecting the news to make her more depressed. It had the opposite effect, she beamed a giant smile at him. "That's great Motoki-san, I hope you and your girlfriend will be happy together. Now how's about telling me where a girl can go to get a decent meal?" Motoki's brain was having a hard time following what just occurred so he sat there with his mouth open. "Hey Motoki!" came a voice from the entrance way, "Are you cheating on Reika-san?" Both Sakuya and Motoki stiffened. Motoki for his part turned and glared frostily at Mamoru. He had just came in and was walking toward the table. Motoki's turned back to stare at Sakuya. She had just uttered a rather acidic curse apparently about Mamoru. He saw she was glaring at Mamoru with a look of controlled rage. Motoki mused. "Chiba Mamoru, may I introduce..." Motoki never got the chance to finish. Sakuya had grabbed his arm and was applying a tremendous amount of pressure to it. "He does not need to know my name," she hissed out. After seeing that she was hurting Motoki, she stood up and said, "Gomen nasai, Motoki-san. I didn't mean to hurt you. I'll stop by later. Ja ne." With that she grabbed her things and rushed out the entrance. "What's her problem?" Mamoru wondered. "You!" Motoki growled. He had been looking forward to talking with her. "Me? Come on Motoki, maybe it was that time of the month," Mamoru said. Unfortunately he wasn't descrete enough to lower his voice so every woman in the place heard him. Motoki groaned and wondered if there was a rock he could crawl under. Aloud Motoki said, "What brings you up here, Mamoru-san?" "I just stopped into get something to eat." "If you'll excuse me, I have to get back to work." With that Motoki got up and left. ****** Later that day a much happier Sakuya made her way back to the Tsukino home. She had gone back and spoken with Motoki. He had apologized for Mamoru's behavior. Sakuya had accepted and then changed the subject onto a different path to get away from discussing that low-life. Hearing the bellows of her Queen about a certain `Fungus' confirmed that her charge was at home where she should be and seemed to be annoying her mother once again. It was strange really. Hopefully her charge would stay put for the night and she could start reading the two books she picked up. Making herself comfortable on the roof once again in her Senshi form she managed to start reading the first one while munching away on a candy bar. As the time passed she put down the book to enjoy the sunset. That was one advantage to being up here, it gave a nice place to watch the sun go down. A couple hours after dark her charge had crept out alone. she said to herself. Putting down the book that she had been reading she took off after Small Lady. She didn't see the white cat making his way across the rooftops toward her campsite. Sakuya followed her charge to a juku and seemed to be waiting for someone. Sakuya thought as she watched from a nearby building. After a few minutes Ami stepped out of the school. Small Lady called Ami. Exactly what they were saying couldn't be heard but after a brief discussion both Ami and Small Lady started walking down the street. ****** Artemis gave a mighty leap and landed on the house next to the Tsukino residence. As he started looking around he noted that someone had been staying there. There was a blanket rolled up and propped against the chimney. Two books lay besides an empty takeout container. He sniffed around a little bit. Artemis took a look at the two books. One might have belonged to Ami the other would probably interest Minako or Makoto. Artemis made a face. He had got his fill of mushy books from Minako fawning over them. Deciding that he couldn't find out anymore about who was staying up on this roof, he went over to the Tsukino house to tell Luna what he had found. Usagi opened the window for Artemis and then excused herself implying that she didn't want to interrupt the two love birds. Both cats just gave a long suffering groan. "Well did you find anything?" Luna asked once they were alone. "Yeah, whatever is around here they are spending a lot of time on that roof over there," Artemis said indicating the roof that he had found the stuff on. "Why do you say they're spending a lot of time on the roof?" "I found a blanket, couple of books and some empty food containers. Do you think it's related to Chibi-Usa?" "Could be," Luna said thoughtfully, "It started about the time she got here. Every time I go looking for it though it seems to disappear." "Do you think it's dangerous? I don't like it Luna; who ever it is seems to be intelligent enough to understand stuff Ami might yet has a taste for romance novels." Luna gave him a quizzical look and said, "What makes you say that it is as intelligent as Ami?" "One of the books looked like it could belong to Ami." "Oh." Luna cocked her head and considered a course of action. She could tell Usagi but that might get her panicked. She could tell the other Senshi but that might not be the best either. "I'll wait and see who comes there. Thank you Artemis you've been a big help." "You are welcome. Now how about we go hunt us up a couple of field mice?" Artemis said while nuzzling close to Luna. ****** Sakuya followed Small Lady to Ami's residence. There they stayed. Taking up a vantage point in some nearby trees she waited. As the minutes crawled by Sakuya started to doze off. A sudden jarring sensation woke her up as Sakuya found herself on the ground. Looking around she noted that the lights in Ami's residence were off and the street appeared empty. Picking herself up she noted that she fell out of the tree. she wondered. Deciding to check here first she headed toward a nearby window. Chapter 5 Sakuya sighed yet again. Somehow Luna had found her campsite. It was a good thing that Sakuya was able to toss Luna inside a pillow case and leave her on the Tsukino's door step before Luna spotted her. Before she had found Luna asleep near her roof top campsite she had found Small Lady inside the Mizuno residence. She would have left quietly and gone back outside but that bloody Luna-P spotted her and immediately came towards her. She had to push it away and drop out the window to get away from that thing. That had been a few days ago. Sakuya had picked a better spot and Luna seemed not to notice her anymore. She took the precaution though of looking around for either of the Moon cats. Eating a cold supper Sakuya let her mind wander back to today when she followed Small Lady to Rei's shrine. ****** Chibi-Usa rubbed the sore spot on her backside. Chibi-Usa thought darkly. She had crept into Usagi's room and had seen that Usagi was sleeping. She had hoped to find the Ginzuishou on Usagi but only wound up tickling her. Usagi had woke up and spanked her. Spotting Rei's grandfather she went up to him. She knew he was going to train people. ****** Sakuya had watched with some apprehension as Small Lady had talked to that lecherous old man. She had nearly revealed herself when he patted Small Lady on the head quite willing to break every bone in his body. Fortunately for him he had simply said that she was too young. Sakuya thought. Small Lady had went into the shrine proper. Usagi and Rei were there and seeing that Small Lady would be with them had decided to go talk with Motoki. Sakuya thought. Motoki had to work but when he wasn't busy they had a quiet talk that focused around nothing specific but Motoki seemed to be happy to see her. Sakuya had then came back and reacquired her charge's location. Small Lady had slipped out of the Tsukino home yet again around three with a gym suit one. She had made her way to the shire where she approached Usagi and Rei who were hunched over looking through some peepholes. Usagi had said something to Small Lady but she didn't listen and opened up the doors. There were some noises coming from the building and someone cried out. Sakuya had almost gone to see what had been going on but Small Lady had taken off and run all the way back to the Tsukino home. Sakuya thought. Chapter 6 Sakuya found out that there had been a battle involving the Senshi at the shrine. She had taken a big chance and listened in on a conversation between the Luna and Artemis. That had been almost two weeks ago. During that time in between Sakuya had developed a better friendship with Motoki who was lonely because his girlfriend was off on some archeological expedition. She used this time to tell him about herself and her family. She neatly avoided telling him that she was a Senshi. Sakuya had to play dumb when Motoki had mentioned how much she looked like Kino Makoto. Sakuya had said she never met her (which was a lie) but she just couldn't tell Motoki she knew his young friend. That could lead to questions that couldn't be answered. Now she was hunched on the school looking dismally up at the large thunderhead that was approaching. It will reach here tomorrow afternoon probably. It was cold here; the wind whistled through the trees. Spotting Ikuko walking down the sidewalk she decided that it was time to go get something hot to drink and something to eat before heading back. Reaching the Crown Arcade she went up the steps. This was her food spot. The real danger of coming up here at this time of day was that she might run into one of the Senshi. She didn't want to do that until she was sure that it was necessary. Sitting down at the corner booth she placed her order and then let her mind wander a little. Motoki wasn't in today. Sakuya thought, this caused her to flush. Sakuya thought. A small lump formed in her throat, ****** Chibi-Usa peeked into the kitchen. Making her way over to the counter she hoisted herself on top of it and opened one of the doors. Reaching inside she pulled out a container and opened it. "Hey! Are you eating cookies before supper?" someone asked. This made Chibi-Usa jump. With a thudding crash she slipped off the counter. This caused the cookies to go flying in all directions. Looking up Chibi-Usa saw that it was only Shingo. "You didn't have to scare me!" Chibi-Usa yelled. "What on earth is going on in here?!" Ikuko demanded coming into the room. Surveying the mess she fixed both occupants with an icy stare. Before Shingo could say anything Chibi-Usa piped up, "Shingo forced me to get the cookie can for him. I slipped." "Hey that isn't true!" Shingo denied. "She was going after the cookies." "Shingo, Chibi-Usa knows that she's not allowed to eat cookies before supper. Isn't that right, Chibi-Usa-chan?" Chibi-Usa nodded emphatically. "Yes, that would ruin my dinner." "Shingo, I want you to clean this mess up. Then you can set the table. Come on Chibi-Usa-chan, we'll get you washed up for supper." "Little Spore," Shingo muttered as Chibi-Usa blew a raspberry at him when Ikuko's back was turned. "What was that, Shingo?" Ikuko asked. "Nothing, nothing," Shingo said as he started to pick up the cookies. "It better not have been." ****** The next day was a bleak morning. The rising sun was hidden behind the heavy clouds that were coming in from the east. It would be awhile before the storm would hit the city. Sakuya huddled in the cold. After a few moments, she noted her charge heading to school. She got up and followed. After arriving safely at the school she went to her usual spot and started thinking some more. It had been several days since her arrival here. There was no sign of Pluto showing up either. This disturbed her, She couldn't remember the name but she'd seen them as their leader presented himself before Neo-Queen Serenity. At the time she hadn't thought anything of it. The Senshi were acting strange though. Her thoughts jumped tracks as she realized something, Her thoughts turned darker still, Pluto had always been a thorn in her family's side for years. "I still remember what you did to my mother, Pluto," she hissed out. ****** After school that day Usagi was walking happily walking home, manga in hand. Then it started, first the wind picked up then claps of thunder rolled over the city followed in quick secession by lighting. Usagi jumped at the sound of thunder and took off toward home. Usagi thought. As she pelted for home, a heavy rain began to come. Sakuya thought. Sakuya was not happy. It wasn't the lighting or thunder that was annoying her, it was having to sit out in the rain. Sakuya thought. Most of the children had left already. Then a voice drifted up to her. "Mama! Papa!" it called out. After a violent flash of lighting and a thunderous clash of thunder, Sakuya saw her charge leave the school grounds alone. But since Sakuya was keeping out of sight, she didn't have a choice in the matter. Small Lady disappeared into an alley. After a few seconds she caught snippets of Small Lady talking to someone. She bounded down a nearby fire escape hoping to reach the alley so she could get Pluto to get her out of this crazy time. Before she reached the ground there was a thunder clap that sent her charge scurrying from the alley crying. She reached the bottom of the fire escape and jumped on to the alley floor a little distance away. Peeking out of the alley she saw Small Lady enter the downstairs part of a coffee shop. After several seconds a energy beam shot out through the roof. No time to answer as a strange flying girl with a large drum came shooting out of the sky and went through the front window. Powering up she was about to go in and destroy the thing when she noted Usagi running into the shop. Looking around she noted Tuxedo Kamen standing over the busted front window. She started to work her way around and then spotted something. Two women watching the coffee shop with some intensity. Working carefully towards them she thought to herself, However before she could get close enough to effectively ensure a capture the two women vanished. The sky started to clear and a rainbow formed. Turning her attention to the coffee shop she noted everyone except Tuxedo Kamen had changed back. she wondered as they were grouped around Small Lady. Whatever it was Tuxedo Kamen brought it to a halt and took Small Lady into his arms. she thought. With that she took to the rooftops once again and headed to her campsite. She had no intention of staying in this time period permanently. ****** Several days later Chibi-Usa peeked into Usagi's room. Usagi wasn't there and Chibi-Usa knew that Ikuko was in the kitchen. Slipping into the room she shut the door and headed towards the dresser drawers. She hadn't found anything in there when she had first searched them but she had caught Usagi putting something in there the day before and it could be the Ginzuishou. Quietly walking over to the drawers she began to pull them out and route through them. She was about to give up the search when her hand hit something hard. Grasping it she pulled it out and looked at it. She let out a squeal of delight. It was a picture of HER Mamo-chan. Humming quietly to herself she walked out of the room with the picture in hand. Chibi-Usa headed for the park by herself. Slipping past Ikuko was getting easier every day. Turning a corner she continued walking, oblivious to the shadow following her. "Hey! What are you doing with MY picture of MY Mamo-chan?" Looking up Chibi-Usa saw a irate looking Usagi approaching her. "Baka Usagi this is mine. It doesn't have your name on it." "Give it to me! Mamoru gave that to me," Usagi said. "Mamoru doesn't love you anymore. He's MY boyfriend now, so this can be his gift to me," Chibi-Usa said while taking a step back. Usagi advanced on the small girl. Usagi made a grab for the picture but Chibi-Usa skipped out of the way and kept her distance away from Usagi while sticking her tongue out. "Odango Atama! You know that Mamo-chan loves me and hates you so why do you want this?" Chibi-Usa said as she ran down the street a little. "Chibi-Usa give it to me!" Usagi said, she could feel herself rapidly approaching the point where she'd collapse into tears. Usagi tried once more to grab Chibi-Usa but was pulled short by what Chibi-Usa said. "Take one more step and I smash it," Chibi-Usa growled. Usagi stood there for a moment with a pained look on her face and then started to move. Shrugging Chibi-Usa dropped the picture and prepared to stamp on it. Usagi seeing the that Chibi-Usa dropped the picture somehow managed to change her flight path and reaching out with her hand covered the picture. Chibi-Usa's foot came down hard on the back of Usagi's hand and was twisted a couple of times. Chibi-Usa took a step back. Usagi pulled herself into a sitting position, holding her hand that Chibi-Usa had stomped on. The picture, the cause of this accident lay between them. Chibi-Usa went over and picked it up. She looked from it to the pained expression on Usagi's face. "I... I'm sorry, Usagi," Chibi-Usa said, holding out the picture. Usagi snatched it, "I knew you were a brat but I didn't think your mother raised you a thief!" "Hey! I said I was sorry!" Chibi-Usa said. "You're probably faking it!" Usagi yelled in response. After blowing a raspberry Chibi-Usa ran down the street shouting over her shoulder, "Baka Usagi!!! Odango Atama!!!" Sakuya thought. She had observed the entire thing from the shadows and that had been the final straw. She was very tired of Small Lady's behavior. Taking off after Small Lady she followed the girl to a park. Just as Chibi-Usa was about to get on a swing, she stepped out of the shadows and stalked toward her princess. She glared at the girl who was sitting on the swing. Chibi-Usa's back was to her as she hummed a pleasant tune. Chibi-Usa was about to push off and start swinging when she felt it. she thought, She could feel the stare on her back. Sliding off the swing she slowly turned around to see who was giving her a angry look. Her mouth slid open as she saw who it was. "Sako-chan!" Chibi-Usa called happily and started to run toward her but stopped when Sakuya didn't respond. That's when Chibi-Usa got a good look at Sakuya's face. Chibi-Usa thought. "My name is Younger Jupiter, Your Highness," Sakuya answered in a cold tone. "What? Why are you angry, Sako-chan?" Chibi-Usa questioned, Sakuya wasn't acting normally. Chibi-Usa hadn't done anything wrong. "My name is Younger Jupiter. The QUEEN would not be pleased with your behavior, Princess Usagi. You do not behave like this at home, why are you behaving like this now?" "Mommy isn't here so why should it matter to you, Sako-chan? Besides it's only baka Usagi. Hey! How'd you know what I was doing?" Chibi-Usa demanded. Sakuya thought coldly. "Your behavior is staining the good name of your mother and your actions are hurting her." "WHAT!?!" Chibi-Usa said. "You are usually well behaved and polite. When you hurt others it makes your mother ashamed of you and that hurts her," Sakuya said, ignoring Small Lady's questions. "Mommy's here!?!" Chibi-Usa asked. The way Sakuya was speaking it sounded like her mother was here. "There is a saying, Small Lady, `The actions of the child reflect on the parents.'" With that Sakuya turned and walked away. "Sako-chan!" Chibi-Usa said starting to run after her but stopped when she heard a voice. "Chibi-Usa!" the voice called from off to the left. Turning she saw that it was Makoto. "What are you doing all alone?" Chibi-Usa didn't answer though, she just looked in the direction that Sakuya had left in. she thought to herself, ****** Ikuko was in the kitchen when Usagi burst through the door ran up the stairs crying and slammed her bedroom door. After the initial shock Ikuko went over and closed the door and headed up the stairs. When she approached the door she could her Usagi crying. Opening the door softly she saw that Usagi was curled up in a corner crying and hugging something to her chest. Coming in and closing the door, Ikuko walked over to her daughter and sat down beside her. Usagi didn't seem to respond. Wrapping her arms around Usagi, Ikuko pulled her into a hug. Usagi responded by clinging to Ikuko and crying some more. After Usagi had calmed down and was just sniffling Ikuko asked the question that was just burning to be asked, "Usagi-chan what is wrong? You seem so upset. What happened when you were out?" Usagi sniffled a bit, "Wha...What would it matter? You wouldn't believe me anyway." "Don't talk nonsense," Ikuko said, "Usagi-chan, you were crying. You couldn't make yourself cry if you were lying. It just isn't your nature." Usagi sniffled a little bit then said in a low tone, "After...after Mamo-chan broke up with me..." "Mamoru-san broke up with you?" Ikuko asked, Usagi nodded, "The day after, when he came home with me, he helped me find Chibi-Usa." "I can understand you being hurt. But why were you crying today?" "I was out. I saw Chibi-Usa walking down the street with this," Usagi said holding out the lone picture of Mamoru. "Usagi! What happened to you hand!?" Ikuko exclaimed. There was a large bruise on her right hand. "I tried to get the picture... I tried asking Chibi-Usa for it. She wouldn't give it back. It's the only one I have of him. She searched my room. I know it because I put it in my dresser drawer." "But what about your hand?" Ikuko said. "Chibi-Usa threatened to smash the picture if I tried to get it back. I...it is very important to me. She dropped it. I got managed to cover the picture but she stamped my hand and twisted it," Usagi said. "I think we should get a cold compress for it," Ikuko said. Getting up she pulled Usagi to her feet. She very carefully felt Usagi's hand. "I don't think any of the bones are broke." Taking the picture she put it on the dresser and led her daughter out of the room. After fixing her daughter up with a cold compress, Ikuko went downstairs. She had managed to comfort her a little and drag most of the story out of her. Ikuko thought. Ikuko reached the kitchen just in time to see the door being closed quietly. Chibi-Usa had just come home. Crossing her arms she waited for Chibi-Usa to turn around. The young girl did and stopped, a look of apprehension spreading across her face. "Young lady, we are going to have a long talk about your behavior this afternoon." Chibi-Usa grimaced, she could probably guess what Ikuko had in mind. Dejectedly she went to her fate. Chapter 7 Chibi-Usa peeked out of her room. Ikuko had told her to stay there until supper. Seeing no one she crept across the hall and stood in front of Usagi's door. Swallowing she gently knocked on the door. After several seconds Usagi's voice said, "Come in." Taking one last look around Chibi-Usa grabbed the door knob and opened the door. Usagi saw that it was Chibi-Usa. She felt a flicker of anger start but put it out of her mind. She watched as the small girl came into the room and closed the door. Chibi-Usa stood there for a moment, head bowed, thinking, Lifting her head she noted a neutral expression on Usagi's face. She was sitting on the floor reading a manga. Chibi-Usa thought as she caught the sight of the bruise on Usagi's hand. It was a dark angry purple. Turning around she was about to open the door when Usagi's spoke up, "Chibi-Usa, did you want to say something?" It was neutral no hate, no anger, just a flat monotone. Turning back around she looked at Usagi again and then said in a small voice, "I am very sorry for hurting your hand, Usagi-san. I did not mean to do it." "Chibi-Usa, do you know how this could have not happened?" Usagi asked. "I shouldn't've been caught," was Chibi-Usa's automatic answer. She saw Usagi grow a little colder. "Please leave, Usagi-san. I have things I wish to do." Sakuya's words came floating back to Chibi-Usa, Chibi-Usa said, "Please Usagi-san, I didn't mean that." "Then why did you say that?" Usagi responded again. "I...I don't know," Chibi-Usa said. She lowered her head and just stood there. Usagi heard a faint noise. Getting up she walked over and kneeled beside Chibi-Usa. "Do you know how this could not have happened?" Usagi asked again. "I am sorry for taking your picture, Usagi-san. I shouldn't have looked through your stuff," was a throaty reply. Usagi wondered. "That was what I was looking for," Usagi said in a warmer voice. Chibi-Usa didn't look up though. Usagi put her hand under Chibi-Usa's chin and pushed it gently up. Raising the girl's head she could see tears. Usagi thought. Chibi-Usa took a step back flushing. "I suppose your going to make fun of me," Chibi-Usa said. "No, Chibi-Usa-chan. I wouldn't make fun of you for crying." Chibi-Usa lifted her head up again to look at Usagi. "Really?" she asked. "Usagi-san?" she asked. "What?" Usagi replied while wiping a tear away from Chibi-Usa's face. "Can I have a hug?" Nodding she reached over and hugged Chibi-Usa. Chibi-Usa thought. That's when the door opened. "Chibi-Usa-chan, I told you to stay in your room." Usagi let go and Chibi-Usa turned to see Ikuko standing in the doorway. Usagi spoke up, "She was apologizing to me." "And did you accept it?" Ikuko asked. "Yes, I thought it very nice of her." Chibi-Usa was looking at Usagi in wonder. Chapter 8 Sakuya thought. She had followed Chibi-Usa and Usagi to the park. Usagi had sat down on a bench while Chibi-Usa had run off to play. It had been about two weeks with no fights with the enemy. Sakuya thought. She was close enough to the bushes to hear the quiet conversation that Luna and Usagi were having. The bench was right beside the bushes. Sakuya however wasn't in Senshi form, she couldn't take the chance. "Hello Usagi-chan," came a voice. Shifting slightly Sakuya could see that it was Ami and Minako coming down the path. "Hey guys! What's up?" "I was trying to get Ami out of studying. I failed, I wound up studying with her." "What are you doing here, Usagi-chan? We haven't seen you lately." "Gomen nasai. Mom lowered the boom. I've had to try to at least pass two tests we had. She found a very good incentive to get me to study." "What's that, food?" Minako asked as she plopped herself down on the bench. Usagi flushed, "No, she found my picture of Mamoru. She said she'd hang on to it until I past at least two tests. I've had a lot of catching up to do." Noting the time Usagi called out, "Oh jeez! Chibi-Usa-chan, we have to go!" "Okay!" came Chibi-Usa's response. "Did I hear right? She actually agreed with you?" Minako asked. "Oh, well I. Ummm...." Usagi trailed off. Sakuya heard the pounding of small feet and then Chibi-Usa's voice, "Hello Ami-chan, Minako-chan. Do we have to go?" "Gomen Chibi-Usa-chan but my mom gave us a certain time to be home by." "Alright," came Chibi-Usa's response. "I think I'll stay here for a bit," came Luna's low response. "Okay then, come on Chibi-Usa we have to go." And with that the pair left. Leaving a bewildered Ami and Minako wondering what had happened in the past two weeks. Sakuya thought. "Luna, why is she acting differently? I've never seen those two get along for more than five seconds?" Ami asked. "They still fight, Ami-chan. A couple of weeks ago I came home and Usagi had a compress on her one hand. I don't know why; she would only say it was an accident. I do know that Ikuko was dealing up some discipline when I got home. What Chibi-Usa had done I'm not sure but Ikuko was not pleased with her behavior." "So she's starting not to act so bad?" Minako asked. "Yes, she is acting more like a normal kid. Still pushing to see how far she can go but Chibi-Usa is starting to at least be civil more. Mamoru and the Ginzuishou are still touchy subjects that set off loud fights but she is slowly improving." Sakuya thought. Chapter 9 Chibi-Usa slipped out the window. She had made sure that Luna was asleep soundly. She had got a note for Sakuya. Chibi-Usa thought. She crept quietly to the park unaware of the shadow following her. Sakuya thought. Chibi-Usa went to the swing set where she was supposed to meet Sakuya. Sitting down she nervously looked around. It was dark with a few patches of light. The tree branches seemed to whisper as a wind blew through them. "Princess Usagi," Sakuya called out after watching to make sure no one had followed Chibi-Usa. Chibi-Usa jumped and turned to the voice. The fear slowly left as she saw that it was Sakuya. Her mind said, "Younger Jupiter, what did you wish to see me about?" Chibi-Usa responded. "Very good, Small Lady." A smile formed on Chibi-Usa's face. "So you aren't mad at me?" "No, Small Lady, you've improved your behavior. That was what I wanted to see." "Why are you here? Do you know where Mommy is?" Chibi-Usa said. She started to walk towards Younger Jupiter. "I followed you here when you went through time," Chibi-Usa stopped. "I can't answer the other question." "Please, I need to find the Ginzuishou." "I'm sorry, Small Lady, I can't answer the other question." Noting that this information saddened her charge, Sakuya transformed back to civilian form and made her way over to Chibi-Usa. Kneeling down she said, "I can't tell you, Small Lady, but I need your help." Chibi-Usa looked, "What help, Sako-chan?" "I need to use Luna-P. I need records like it did for you so I can interact with the other Senshi in this time." "You know where they are?" Chibi-Usa cried out, "You have to tell me!" "I can't, Small Lady," Sakuya said, "I'm very sorry but I can't." "You have to! If I don't find the Ginzuishou, Mommy will...will..." Chibi-Usa trailed off. she thought. Sakuya didn't answer just reached out and drew the little girl to her. "Small Lady, will you help me?" Sniffling, Chibi-Usa nodded her head. Then hugged Sakuya back. Chapter 10 Sakuya sat on the roof. It had been a beautiful day, for the rest of the world. The Senshi had another fight today. It had taken place in a charm store. She had followed Chibi-Usa to the park but when she had spotted Minako and Makoto with Chibi-Usa; she had to remain even further behind. She however was not worried though. Makoto is a capable warrior. Small Lady had been good to her word. She hadn't told the others of Sakuya's presents and Luna-P had inserted enough records into various databases to keep her story from being uncovered as untrue. She hadn't observed the fight but had noted the Tuxedo Kamen had been there. Sakuya thought. This `I can't love you any more but I'm willing to save you' act was starting to really confuse her. The attack had occurred a few days after the one at the coffee shop. No answers seemed to come. One thing was clear: they were after Chibi-Usa. Sakuya had planned to start to interact with the others. The first person she was going to meet was Makoto. Sakuya didn't like keeping things from her grandmother. ****** It was the next day. Makoto entered her house once again. Heaving a mighty sigh she dropped her school books on the kitchen table and took off her jacket. After hanging up her jacket she came back, picked up her books, and walked into the living room. Plopping her books on the coffee table, she sat on the couch. Makoto thought gloomily. Glaring at the books again as if to make them vanish she heaved another sigh, Picking up her pen she flipped open her math book and started working away at the assigned problems. This industriousness lasted all of five minutes. Makoto thought. Just as she was about to continue there was a knock at the door. Makoto thought. Hopefully it was someone she had to talk to. Getting up she made her way over to the door. Looking through the eye piece in the door she noted a young woman in a business suit standing patiently on the other side of the door. Opening it slowly Makoto took a better look at the woman. She was young, maybe early twenties. Reddish-brown hair. Brown eyes. But the face, it looked familiar. The woman notice Makoto look through the opening in the door and smiled. "Yes, can I help you?" Makoto said, her curiosity wanted to know who this woman was. "My name is Rakurai Sakuya. I would like to speak with Kino Makoto please." Sakuya thought. She was keeping a straight face, Opening the door further Makoto said, "I'm Kino Makoto. Would you like to come in?" "Thank you," Sakuya said and entered the house. ****** They were seated on the couch together. Sakuya thought. "The reason that I wanted to talk with you was..." she trailed off a bit. Makoto waited patiently, "Was that I have something important to tell you and your friends. You seemed to be the best one to tell first." "My friends?" Makoto asked, at the back of her mind a little warning bell went off. Makoto started to watch her more closely. "Yes, your friends would be effected by what I am about to say." With that Sakuya got up and moved to the center of the room. Makoto watched in dawning fascination and disbelief as she saw the young woman make a familiar flicking motion and produce what looked like I transformation pen. Makoto's question was answered when Sakuya raised her hand above her head and called out even more familiar transformation words. With a blur of green light Rakurai Sakuya was replaced with a young woman who looked similar but was wearing a Senshi uniform. Leaping to her feet Makoto also transformed and then hissed out, "What type of joke is this?!?" "It isn't a joke, Sailor Jupiter," said the nearly identical Sailor suited woman. "I am also Sailor Jupiter." she thought to herself. "I am Sailor Jupiter. You can't be it. That's impossible." "Look at my transformation pen," she replied. Jupiter took the offered transformation pen and looked at it. It was identical to hers. "How is this possible?!" Makoto demanded, she was Jupiter. She needed to be Jupiter. Sakuya shifted back to her business suit and sat back down. "I can explain. Would you like to take a seat?" Handing back the pen Jupiter took a seat opposite and said in a cold tone of voice, "This had better be good." After collecting her thoughts, with Jupiter glaring at her the entire time she said, "I'll answer questions. That would be the best way. That way you can find out what you want to know." "Alright, first off, how'd you get a transformation wand that was identical to mine?" "Luna gave it to me." "When?" Jupiter snapped. She knew Luna hadn't left Usagi to seek out another Senshi. "A very long time ago," Sakuya responded. "Who was Endymion?" Jupiter tried to throw her with the switch in questions. After a second Sakuya answered, "He was the Prince of Earth. He was to be married to Princess Serenity." Jupiter blinked, "You know about the Moon Kingdom? So Luna gave you the pen way back then?" "Yes, I know about the Moon Kingdom. When else would Luna give me the transformation pen?" "Okay if she did give it to you then how come you have it now when Beryl attacked and we never got ours until Luna gave them to us? Why didn't you show up earlier?" Sakuya thought, "As to the first, I was not on the Moon at the time. As to the second, well what was I supposed to do? Drop everything and set out looking for something I didn't know existed? I became aware of who I was when I was thirteen. What was I supposed to tell my father?" "But why now?" Jupiter stated, she was only partially buying it. "Why not when you were eighteen?" "When did you become aware of your abilities?" "Two years ago, why?" Jupiter could feel herself getting angry. She was not getting everything and that frustrated her. "I'm a little over twenty." "So when you were eighteen, none of you were aware of who you were. I don't know if Luna was active during that period. So what was I supposed to do?" Jupiter chewed on this information of several minutes. It made sense. Shifting back she looked at Sakuya. "So why Jupiter?" "We are related," Sakuya answered. This was treading too close for comfort. "Related, how?" Makoto asked. She was wary of this stranger but she was hoping that it was true. "I'm not really sure how we are related, we could ask Luna?" Jupiter's heart sped up just a little, "You'd agree to that?" "Of course, I wouldn't expect you to trust me at first." Detransforming Makoto got up and sat down beside her, "If this is true, where do we go then?" Sakuya smiled, "Friends, just friends. To start off with. No love, no trust, just a base to build on." Makoto smiled in return. She hoped that she could be friends.
