Tales of Younger Jupiter Episode 3 Chapter 1 The next day found Artemis becoming dizzy as he watched Minako pace around and around her room before breakfast. Minako hadn't slept well the night before and when the first glint of sunlight came through the window she had gotten up and started to wear a trench into the carpet. "Minako! Would you please sit down and tell me what's wrong!" Artemis demanded as his stomach started to head upwards. Minako stopped and fixed a look at Artemis for a moment and then plopped down on the floor. Before Artemis could thank her Minako started to speak, "Do you think I'm paranoid?" Artemis blinked, Taking up a better position on the bed he said, "Minako-chan, tell me why you are worrying. There might be a point to it. I can't answer your question if I don't know what you're supposed to be paranoid about." After a pause, "It's Sakuya-san. I don't trust her. She doesn't help and she's always watching. She's not telling us everything." "What do you mean?" Artemis prompted, "Artemis, you know how I started to jump at shadows later on in England sometimes?" Artemis nodded, "Well Sakuya... She doesn't jump at shadows but she just observes. I can't quite explain it. She doesn't come to help with the droids either." Artemis chewed on this new thought, "Artemis?" Minako asked, he'd been quiet far longer then normal, "Do you think she really is a threat?" "Minako-chan, let me ask you something. Is what you're driving at is that Sakuya appears better trained then you do?" "Yes... I think that's it. For a person that supposedly trained by herself, she certainly knows what to do." "Let me talk to Luna about something. Don't do anything for now, alright?" "Why do you have to talk to Luna?" "Minako-chan, please," Artemis asked. "Oh alright," Minako said. Then she noted the time, "Oh no! I'm gonna be late!" With that Minako dashed out of the room. Artemis mused. ****** "Chibi-Usa-chan," Usagi called from the kitchen, "I'm going over to Rei's. Do you want to come with me?" Chibi-Usa came walking into the kitchen, noting that only Ikuko was in there along with Usagi she turned and said, "No thanks, Onee-san." With that she walked out of the room. Usagi was stunned. She turned to her mother who was having a coughing fit. Usagi glanced back to where Chibi-Usa had been and then to her mother. "Onee-san?" Usagi dazedly questioned. Ikuko for her part was flustered. "I would not question such a nicety, Usagi-chan. I wonder what she would have said it if Shingo were in here." Ikuko went over and patted her daughter's shoulder, Giving Usagi a wink she said, "Just be glad your father didn't hear that. I think it would give him heart failure." "Hey! She isn't that bad," Usagi protested. Ikuko thought, Chapter 2 Sakuya thought as she heard the muffled sounds of debating going on in the main shrine building. "Sako-chan?" Chibi-Usa spoke up from where she was sitting on the steps. Sakuya looked down at Usagi's "cousin" that she had just been introduced to. Chibi-Usa had a scrape on her chin where she had hit the pavement when Cooan had slammed her down to the ground. Shaking herself slightly she said, "Yes Chibi-Usa-chan." "What are they fighting about?" "They aren't fighting, they are debating." "What's the difference? Sounds like a fight to me." "Well, when you debate there are rules..." Chibi-Usa interrupted her, "You mean fighting with rules?" "Yes," Sakuya said. ****** "You have to be kidding!" Minako protested. "Why? She helped out when Chibi-Usa-chan and Usagi-chan were in trouble. I don't blame her for hanging back. She knows we are a team. You guys didn't exactly welcome her with open arms to our last practice!" Makoto hotly retorted. "She is stronger than we are," Ami noted, that stopped the other who swung to look in her direction. "When I was scanning her DNA, I also scanned her power levels. They are at least twice as strong as ours." "Sako-chan is older than we are. Isn't it conceivable that she has stronger powers?" Makoto asked. "Yes but our `upgrades', if you will, usually came under stress." "No they didn't, remember, we got the different transformation pens." "Yes I do, but our powers materialized when we were under stress," Ami stated calmly. "Ami is there anyway that Sakuya-san could have gotten these `upgrades' as you call them?" Rei asked. She noted that Usagi was not paying close attention but she wasn't whining about her Mamo-chan either. After a few minutes of consideration Ami said, "Well yes there are. Intense training would be one way. Stress would be another but her life would have to be in danger. There are others, but they are remote." "Intense training?" Minako questioned, "Like we do?" Ami shook her head, "Minako-chan, we train to keep in practice. Our training isn't near intense enough." Minako latched on to that thought, "So where would she get such intense training then?" "Give it a rest, Minako. Ami-chan, Rei-chan, and Luna have all confirmed that she is a Sailor Senshi and that she is related to me. Ami-chan checked her background out thoroughly. Rei-chan did a fire reading. Maybe your just a bit jealous," Makoto said. Minako bristled, "I am not jealous. As leader of the Senshi, next to Usagi-chan, I have to watch out for threats." "Then we put it to a vote." "Fine." "All those in favor?" Makoto asked. "All those opposed?" Minako asked. "You guys are being duped!" "Don't be such a sore loser, Minako-chan. So you were the only one that voted against my idea." That was the wrong thing to say; Minako got up and stormed out of the room. ****** "Usagi? Is something wrong?" Rei asked, as the other got up to leave. "No Rei-chan, thanks anyway. Just something strange happened this morning." "You look a little glum, Usagi," Rei said while making her way over to stand beside Usagi who did look a little depressed. "Ami-chan said that Chibi-Usa-chan and I weren't related. Then this morning Chibi-Usa-chan came in and called me `Onee-san'. I was kinda hoping we were related." "She looks up to you like an older sister, Usagi. That's why she called you that. She respects you although I can't see why. Cheer up," Rei said. "Grrrr.... Rei-chan!" Usagi didn't appreciate the insult but then thought better of it. She knew it was just Rei's way. Usagi thought. Usagi bid her good bye and walked out. "Chibi-Usa-chan, I'm going home. Are you going to stay here or come with me?" Usagi called out to Chibi-Usa who was obviously listening intently to Makoto and Sakuya discussing something. Jerking slightly she whirled around and ran over to Usagi. "No, I'll come home with you, Onee-san." Chibi-Usa tossed a look over to where Sakuya and Makoto were still in deep discussion. Frowning slightly Chibi-Usa realized that Sakuya may not lie to her but she doesn't always tell her everything either. Usagi felt a bit of a rush. Usagi thought. "What's the matter?" Usagi asked, noting the frown on Chibi-Usa's face. "Nothing," Chibi-Usa said, taking Usagi's hand they walked away from the shrine and started home. Chapter 3 The next day found Sakuya approaching the Tsukino home. When they reached the door, Makoto knocked. A few moments later Ikuko opened the door. "Hello Makoto-san," Ikuko greeted one of her daughter's friends, "How are you today?" "Fine thank you, Tsukino-san. I'd like to introduce Rakurai Sakuya, my cousin." "It very nice to meet you, Rakurai-san. Usagi has told me about you. I understand that you work in the financial field." "It's nice to meet you as well, Tsukino-san. Usagi-chan was right. I work in the financial field of business. I picked it up from my father." "Please come in." Ikuko motioned the girls into the house and closed the door. "Does your father live in Tokyo?" "No, Tsukino-san, it's my first time in Tokyo as well. My father and I are from Fukui." "Oh I know where that is. It's a nice place." Walking over to the steps Ikuko called, "Usagi-chan, Makoto-chan and her cousin are here." Hearing a muffled response, Ikuko indicated that the two girls should go up. Sakuya noted that Chibi-Usa was watching her with a strange expression on her face. ****** "No way, I don't believe it!" Usagi said. "Well I saw what Mamoru did to Sako-chan's clothes. She didn't do that to herself." "Come on, Mamo-chan doesn't drink," Usagi said while getting up from the bed and starting to pace. "At least, he never has before." From her position seated near Usagi's desk, Sakuya spoke up, "Usagi-chan, did it ever occur to you that since he's older than you, you may have never had the chance to see him drink? He doesn't spend all his nights with you. He might go out to a bar with some friends to unwind." Usagi stopped pacing and looked at Sakuya, "Are you sure it was my Mamo-chan?" "I don't know any other drunks that would get up onto a table and say, `I'm a bird. I'm a plane. I'm Endymion!' and then tackle me." Makoto started to snicker. Usagi glared at Makoto for a moment and then slumped onto the bed, "Did I cause this?" Usagi asked more to herself then anyone. Makoto stopped snickering and looked at Usagi with some concern. "Usagi-chan, I don't think you drove him to drink," Makoto said while giving Usagi's arm a reassuring squeeze. "Maybe he just got carried away a little bit." "He's never got drunk before! I don't understand why he'd do it now," Usagi protested. Sakuya remained silent. "Usagi-chan, Ami-chan's here," came Ikuko's voice from downstairs. Makoto groaned, "Oh no. I forgot that I was going to meet Ami-chan. We were going to go to some `Chess Tower' a little later on." ****** "Sako-chan?" Chibi-Usa asked. They were headed for Mamoru's apartment. Usagi had asked Sakuya to take Chibi-Usa over there while she went with the others to the Chess Tower opening. "Yes," Sakuya said, "Would you be friends with Puu?" Chibi-Usa asked in a small voice. "Are you out of your gourd?! Pluto's the one that got us into this mess in the first place! How can you ask me to be friends with her?!" "Puu's a good person. She likes me!" Chibi-Usa retorted. "I like you too, Small Lady, but Pluto is dangerous." "No she's not!" Chibi-Usa said, while balling up her fists. "I won't be a friend to her, Small Lady. It's as simple as that." Chibi-Usa brushed a tear away from her eye, "Please Sako-chan! I don't like to see you guys fight. I want you guys to be friends." Sakuya kneeled down and squeezed Chibi-Usa's shoulder, "I'm sorry, Small Lady, but I can't. Now don't cry. We're going to see Mamoru-san." Sakuya chocked on HIS name, "Would you want him to see you unhappy?" Chibi-Usa sniffled a bit but shook her head no. They proceeded to Mamoru's apartment in silence. Sakuya was quickly lost in thought again while Chibi-Usa had a small sad look, one that caught your attention and held it. Simply because you would like to remove it but knowing that even a hug probably wouldn't be enough. Mamoru took several minutes before opening the door. He flinched back at the sight of Sakuya but before he could say anything, Chibi-Usa bounded up to him and demanded in a very strong voice, "Mamoru-san, why did you get wasted?" Mamoru blinked, "Pardon?" "Why did you get drunk?" Chibi-Usa said again while staring intently at Mamoru. "I didn't get drunk," Mamoru lied. "Mamoru-san, you wouldn't lie to a little kid, would you?" Sakuya watched with amusement as Mamoru visibly gulped, "Ah well you see..." Mamoru started and glanced at Sakuya for help, he saw none forthcoming from her. Mamoru wondered. Chapter 4 Younger Jupiter knocked on the door. It had been a three days since the Senshi had first turned Cooan good. Now there were two Uncanny Sisters that were supposedly healed. she thought as she looked around, Cooan gave a startled cry and stepped back as she opened the door and recognized who was on the other side. Moving swiftly Younger Jupiter came into the apartment and closed the door. Looking around she noted that Beruche coming into the room to see why her sister had cried out. Beruche then spotted the unexpected guest and froze in place. "What... what are you doing here?" Cooan said, "You were in the future; I remember you." "That's the problem. I'll be blunt with you. I don't trust you in the least. In fact I'm inclined to think your bluffing your healing." "We aren't. How could you come in here and say that?" Beruche said. "It's simple, I'm not as naive as my younger counterparts. However, I need your help." "Why should we help you? You just forced your way in here. You're more of a threat to us," Cooan said. "The others don't know I'm from the future. I don't think you were about to tell them that?" Cooan shook her head in the negative. "I didn't think so. It's important that you not reveal who I or the Princess really are." "But why?" Beruche asked, "If we tell them, then they'll have a better chance of defeating Rubeus and protecting Princess Usagi." Sakuya was about to answer that question when Cooan spoke up, "Because Beruche-chan, if we tell them what we know them, we put Younger Jupiter as well as the Princess in more danger." "Because they might start acting differently then they would normally?" Beruche asked, a look of comprehension spreading across her face. "Yes," Younger Jupiter said, "Will you do this?" Cooan thought about it for a second, "What if we don't agree?" "Then I will have no choice. I'll have to eliminate you," Younger Jupiter said calmly, "I won't beat around the bush. My priority is the safety of Princess Usagi not the well being of you two." Cooan and Beruche went over to a corner and discussed quietly the matter before them. After a few moments Beruche said, "How can we trust you not to kill us anyway?" Younger Jupiter smiled and transformed back into civilian clothes, "If you agree to this, we can start to trust each other. But we both know where we stand on the matter." "If anything happens to either of us, the other will tell everything. Is that agreeable?" Cooan asked. "Entirely. Now I'd like to ask you some other questions and offer some `financial help'." The other two women glanced at each other and then shrugged. Why not. ****** Sakuya leaned back against the shrine wall. She smiled as she watched Usagi and Chibi-Usa arguing over a sweet potato. She let her eyes wander to Makoto. "Usagi-chan, why don't you have a hermit instead of pestering Chibi-Usa-chan for half of her sweet potato?" Sakuya asked. "Hermit? What's a hermit?" Usagi asked. "I thought that was a type of crab." "Yes there is a type of crab called a hermit but this is a spice cookie," Sakuya replied while reaching for the container to show them to Usagi. "Yeah a very expensive cookie," Makoto threw in. "What do you mean `expensive'?" Ami asked while examining the contents of the container. "The spices she put in them are rather expensive here in Japan. I could probably pay my whole month's rent with the money she spent on those cookies." This drew a whistle from some people but Minako just glared, "Mako-chan is exaggerating. Yes some of the stuff was expensive but it wasn't that bad. Have one, Usagi-chan." Usagi was hesitant. "Well okay," she said, reaching into the container, she pulled out one. Taking a sniff she smiled, "It smells good." Then she popped it into her mouth and chewed it. A smile spread across her face, "They are good." "Glad you think so," Sakuya said while popping one into her mouth, "I'm addicted to these things." "Well the sweet potatoes are ready so you might as well save them for later," Makoto said as she proceeded to put the sweet potatoes onto a plate. Usagi and Sakuya gave disappointed looks back to Makoto. ****** "Mercury, how's it coming?" YJ asked as the Senshi sped along the streets. The two healed Uncanny Sisters have been captured and now the Senshi were trying to track them down. "It'll take a few more minutes," Mercury called while examining the data that sped across her visor. "I don't like leaving Chibi-Usa-chan alone!" Sailor Moon said, "I think one of us should go back. What if this was some type of diversion?" "She's right," Mars agreed with some surprise, "I never thought of that." "I'll go back then," YJ said and started to head back when Venus' voice stopped her. "Why you? You could be working for the enemy." "Venus!" Jupiter growled, "What are you saying?" "We don't have time for this. Whatever captured them was strong and as we get closer my readings indicate a large power source. We might have to use the Sailor Planet Attack and I don't think YJ can help us in that case." "Mercury's right. Venus I don't know what your problem is but YJ can head back and keep an eye on Chibi-Usa-chan for us." Nodding and ignoring the still fuming Venus, Younger Jupiter leapt onto a nearby roof and head back towards the shrine. As she neared the shrine, she became worried. The main doors that had been shut were now open. As she landed on the ground she carefully made her way inside. Looking around she called out for Chibi-Usa but received no response. She began searching the grounds to see if she could find her charge. Just as she was about to go and tell the other Senshi that Chibi-Usa was missing, she heard the pounding of small feet; Chibi-Usa came running up the steps. The small girl stopped dead in her tracks, an angry look spreading across her face. "Where did you go?" a relieved Younger Jupiter asked. "Shove it!" Chibi-Usa angrily retorted. Younger Jupiter blinked, "Small Lady, why are you angry?" "Just leave me alone!" Chibi-Usa yelled. Changing back Sakuya was about to ask again when the other Senshi in civilian form showed up. Chapter 5 Ikuko looked up from the kitchen counter as Chibi-Usa came in and slammed the door. Kicking off her shoes the little girl ran upstairs and slammed the door. Usagi walked into the kitchen with a concerned look on her face. "What was that all about, Usagi-chan?" Ikuko questioned. "I...I don't know," Usagi said softly while walking over to Ikuko. "We were having a fun time at Rei-chan's when we had to go help a couple of Rei's friends with something important. Sako-chan said she'd watch Chibi-Usa-chan for us so we left. Maybe that was the wrong thing to do because when we got back, Chibi-Usa-chan was really mad at us. She even told me..." Usagi flushed and trailed off. "Told you what?" Ikuko asked. "Um well... I just wasn't very nice," Usagi floundered. "Usagi-chan, tell me what Chibi-Usa-chan told you," Ikuko said. Leaning forward Usagi-chan whispered what Chibi-Usa had told her. Ikuko's eye grew wider, "I don't believe it. A nice little girl like that using such language." "I don't believe it either, Mom. You can ask the others. They all heard it," Usagi said. "Well I'm going to make sure she doesn't use that type of language again," Ikuko said while heading for the stairs. "No, Mom, please. She's just angry with me for some reason. I think she wouldn't have said it but she's really mad at me," Usagi pleaded. "I'm not about to let that type of thing slip by. Your father and I are responsible for her until her folks come get her," Ikuko said while trying to move Usagi out of the way. "Please?" Usagi asked, "At least let her cool down. Maybe she'll apologize after Chibi-Usa-chan's had sometime to think about it." Ikuko sighed, "Oh alright Usagi-chan, I'll give her some time but I still don't like it." ****** Late the next afternoon found Sakuya sitting alone at Makoto's dining table her thoughts furiously bouncing between the enemy and what Chibi-Usa had said the night before. Slamming her hand down Sakuya got up and started pacing, Just then a knock came at the door. Striding over Sakuya opened it to find Chibi-Usa standing there. Sakuya waved her in, "Did you know Usagi was Sailor Moon?" Chibi-Usa asked without greeting. Sakuya thought. "Yes I did." "Then why didn't you tell me?!" shouted an angry Chibi-Usa, "I could have gotten the Ginzuishou before now! I could have helped my mother sooner!" Chibi-Usa brushed a hot tear that rolled down her face away with an angry swipe. "What was I supposed to do? Tell you and then get the Ginzuishou?" Sakuya said while kneeling to be at eye-level with Chibi-Usa. "I have the Ginzuishou!!!" yelled Chibi-Usa as she took a couple of steps back. "You didn't want to help me!" she choked out, "You didn't want to help my mommy!" A steady stream of tears was now flowing down Chibi-Usa's face. "Small Lady, I would help you. But my job isn't to protect your mother. It's to protect you and keep you safe," Sakuya said softly, reaching out she was going to reassure her charge but Chibi-Usa took a few more steps backwards. Sakuya thought, In a soft voice Sakuya said, "Small Lady, since your Time Key doesn't seem to work, call Pluto. Get her to get us out of here so that we can help your mother." Chibi-Usa stood still for a moment, looking very brittle. She looked as if a strong breeze would blow her over. Taking Luna-P into her hands Chibi-Usa depressed its nose and waited. "Small Lady?" came the surprised voice, "What's wrong?" "Puu, I have the Ginzuishou. Come and get us. My Time Key doesn't work," Chibi-Usa said to the wavering image in the right eye of Luna-P. "You must stay there, Small Lady," Pluto's voice said with forceful intent. "Who is `us'?" "Sako-chan and I," Chibi-Usa said. "Sako-chan?!? What is she doing in the past?!" Grabbing Luna-P Sakuya brought it up to face her and she shouted, "Pluto, don't fuck with me! You get here and get me and Small Lady the hell out of this time period!" "I can not. Small Lady must remain there and you Younger Jupiter must stay there as well. However, I do hope that you don't interact with anyone." "Pluto!!! If you care for Small Lady, you'll come and pick at us up! Don't do to her mother what you did to mine!" Sakuya was seething with rage now. "No," was the single response before the image vanished. "No?!?! Pluto, Kami-sama, may you rot in hell," Sakuya said dropping Luna-P who resumed its hovering position in front of a stunned Chibi-Usa. "Sako-chan? Why did Pluto say that we have to stay here?" Chibi-Usa asked in a small voice. "Because she doesn't care about your mother. She certainly didn't care about mine!" Sakuya continued to angrily pace the floor. Sakuya looked up as she heard a door slam shut. Chibi-Usa had gone. ****** Chibi-Usa ran through the streets, hot tears flowing freely. Chibi-Usa thought, Tiredly she stopped running. She was out of breathe from crying and running at the same time. Chibi-Usa noted that she had returned to the same docks where she had fallen on Usagi weeks before. Sniffling a little bit Chibi-Usa said in a small quiet voice, "I'm all alone. No one loves me." ****** Makoto came home to find Sakuya in a extremely foul mood. Putting her things down warily approached the still pacing Sakuya. "Is something wrong?" Makoto asked in a quiet voice. Sakuya jumped at the sound, whirling around she noted it was Makoto. "Yes...Chibi-Usa-chan has the Ginzuishou." "What?! How do you know?" Makoto said. "Because she came to me, to tell me that she had it," Sakuya said. "Sako-chan, why would Chibi-Usa-chan come to you?" Makoto felt a hint of fear rising inside of her. "Mako-chan, Chibi-Usa knows me from before. I'm one of her guardians," Sakuya said. "What!?! You knew who she was and you didn't tell us!" Makoto said incredulously. A hurt expression mixing with anger formed on her face. "You lied to me!" Makoto shouted. She could feel her heart beating faster. "No, I didn't lie to you. Listen to me. I couldn't tell you everything. There are somethings I can't even tell Chibi-Usa-chan. The last thing I would want to do would be to lie to you. I just can't tell you everything," Sakuya pleaded. Makoto was about to angrily retort when her communicator went off after listening for a few moments she said, "Okay." Turning to Sakuya she said, "That was Usagi, if you hadn't guessed. She's just found her broach missing. That means the Ginzuishou is missing and Usagi-chan thinks Chibi-Usa-chan took it." The angry-hurt expression flicked across her face, "That also means that you weren't entirely honest either." With that Makoto went out the door without another word. Chapter 6 Sakuya was alone and feeling miserable. She was out helping the others look for Chibi-Usa when she heard the clock striking ten. Sakuya chopped the rest of that thought off. Sakuya continued to look until she thought of something. Turning in a different direction she made her way to Mamoru's apartment. Hurrying her pace she reached Mamoru's apartment to find Usagi also heading that way. "Usagi-chan we must have thought the same thing. Chibi-Usa-chan could have gone here." Usagi was quiet until they reached the elevator. Stepping in she pushed the button for Mamoru's floor before saying, "Sakuya-chan do you know why Chibi-Usa-chan was mad at me?" "Usagi-chan, Chibi-Usa-chan is mad at a lot of people right now... including me." Sakuya said softly, "It just isn't your fault." Stepping off the elevator Usagi looked at Sakuya before asking, "You? Why would she be angry with you?" "That is a long story involving somethings I can't tell you about." Usagi was quiet as she knocked on the door. ****** "They're all gone," Usagi said softly to Sakuya, "I should have been with them." "Nonsense!" Sakuya said sharply, "So you could get captured, too, and let Rubeus get the Ginzuishou? I have something to lose in this as well." Usagi looked questioningly at Sakuya but remained silent. The four Inner Senshi had tried to pull off a Sailor Planet Attack without Sailor Moon. They succeeded but were captured by Rubeus. Chibi-Usa had returned the broach but had also said that she hated Usagi. Sakuya wasn't sure what would effect Usagi more: the loss of her friends or to have someone she obviously cared about tell her she was hated by them. "Sakuya-san, can we talk to you?" questioned a worried sounding Luna. "Yes," getting up Sakuya made her way over to where the cats were talking. Getting comfortable Sakuya said, "Before you begin let me say that there are somethings that I won't be able to tell you about." The two Moon cats exchanged looks before nodding there head in understanding. "Who are you?" Artemis started off. Sighing heavily Sakuya said, "Who I told you I was except for the fact that I am one of Chibi-Usa-chan's guardians." "Who is Chibi-Usa-chan?" Luna questioned, she was staring intently at Sakuya. "That I can't answer. Her name is Usagi though." Sakuya thought, "How old are you?" Artemis asked. This drew a glare from both females. "If you really must know, I'm 122. Now if you two are done with tiny questions, I have a bigger one. What are we going to do?" ****** As the pounding in her head became a mildly throbbing, Younger Jupiter noted that it turned out not to be much of a plan. Sailor Moon in a attempted to protect Chibi-Usa had gone out. Chibi-Usa had also gone out because she thought it was mostly her fault that the Sailor Senshi got kidnapped. Younger Jupiter opened her eyes. She had left to drag both Usagis inside; it hadn't worked. Her first view of the crystal UFO was of its ceiling, lost somewhere in a dark prismatic spray of color. Scrambling to her feet, or at least that was her intention, Younger Jupiter reached out with her left hand to support herself as she stumbled forward. "Well, well. If it isn't the one that attacked me before," Rubeus sneered with venom dripping from his voice. "You like electricity, well let's see how your friends like the same thing." As Rubeus lifted his hand, a globe of power started to build and before Younger Jupiter could react, he released it at the Senshi that were hanging on crosses. Younger Jupiter gripped her sides, sinking onto the floor as a wave of pain shot through her. her mind raced. Rubeus looked at the reaction for a moment and fired again. This time the attack drove Younger Jupiter to the ground. "Leave her alone!" a small voice called out. "Ah Sailor Moon, and I see you brought the Rabbit with you." Rubeus turned his gaze to Sailor Moon who was shielding Chibi-Usa. "She's my cousin, not the Rabbit," Sailor Moon stated flatly, "We shall see about that after I kill her." "Fight me, Rubeus!" Sailor Moon growled, softly, "Chibi-Usa-chan try and help the others." Sailor Moon glanced over at Younger Jupiter and sucked in her breath. Younger Jupiter didn't look... solid. Sailor Moon could actually see the floor. It was like the older girl wasn't even there. Rubeus seeing his target distracted took the advantage and began to attack. "Sako-chan?!?" cried a worried Chibi-Usa as she saw Younger Jupiter collapse on to the floor breathing hard. The older girl was becoming solid again. "Do what Sailor Moon said, try and help the others." As Chibi-Usa scurried away Younger Jupiter gritted her teeth and rolled into a sitting position. The pain was less intense but the pounding in her head had returned. Hearing a cry she looked up and saw Chibi-Usa give an energy discharge. "The Rabbit!" crowed Rubeus. He notices the odd Senshi trying to get up, chuckling softly he blasts the trapped Senshi again. Younger Jupiter felt the pain return, giving a guttural cry she collapsed again. "Sako-chan!" she heard being called. "Small Lady, help the Senshi!" she hissed through clenched teeth. Younger Jupiter noted as she looked at her hand, Blackness took her. Sakuya was disoriented. However, she was aware of someone calling her. Groaning slightly she felt a rocking motion. As she sat up she opened her eyes to notice that they weren't on the ship anymore. Blinking Younger Jupiter also noted that she was in civilian form. The others were looking at her. "Are you okay?" Makoto asked, "What happened?" Sakuya slowly groaned out, "All I remember was thinking about..." Sakuya trailed off as she realized that she couldn't tell Makoto what she was thinking. "We defeated Rubeus, no thanks to you," Minako growled out. This statement drew some nasty looks in her direction but she ignored them. "What is your problem?" Sakuya shot out, and nearly collapsed. She sunk back onto the bench she hadn't noticed before. "You lied to us. You knew Chibi-Usa-chan and didn't tell us. Chibi-Usa-chan wasn't in the Silver Millennium so how can you be from there as well?" Minako said. Sakuya looked around before answering. She noted that Usagi was standing a few feet from Chibi-Usa who was looking off in the distance. The others however were paying attention to Sakuya. "I did not say I was from the Silver Millennium, you did." This caused the others to look slightly taken aback. Makoto initially felt a smile coming on but squelched it. But the last thought was less forceful then the time before. "You still lied. You said that Luna gave you the transformation wand. How could she if you aren't from the Silver Millennium?" Minako retorted. "Luna did give me the transformation wand. When you said in the Silver Millennium, I responded with when else." Sakuya smiled slightly. While Minako continued to attempt to poke holes in Sakuya's story, Usagi was worrying. She had stayed at a distance but now was slowly making her way over to Chibi-Usa. Usagi thought. Softly Usagi said, "Chibi-Usa-chan, I'm very sorry. I know it doesn't help your mother." Sniffling slightly Chibi-Usa turned, tears streaking down her face, eyes puffy and red. She stood there for a moment before choking out, "Why? Why won't you help? No one loves me!" Usagi walked over and kneeled down to her eye level. "I don't know, Chibi-Usa-chan. Maybe because we had something to do here. I didn't know who you were. I was jealous of you, at first, for being liked by Mamoru-san." Usagi brushed a tear away from her face. "Why are you crying?" Chibi-Usa croaked out. "Because I hurt you, Chibi-Usa-chan. You trusted me, didn't you?" Seeing Chibi-Usa's affirmative nod Usagi pushed on, "I care about you Chibi-Usa-chan. I like having you as Imouto... I think Sako-chan cares about you, too." This drew surprised looks from all the others except Rei. They never knew Usagi thought of Chibi-Usa as a little sister. Chibi-Usa lowered her head and began crying again. She didn't notice when Usagi drew her into a hug. Chibi-Usa questioned. She felt herself being moved, looking down she noted that someone had picked her up. Tilting her head, she saw it was Usagi. In a small voice Usagi said, "Chibi-Usa-chan, do you want me to put you down?" Chibi-Usa was about to say yes when something stopped her. There was also something else. Usagi sighed mentally as Chibi-Usa's only response was to close her eyes and put her head on Usagi's shoulder. "Thank you," Usagi whispered. When she reached the other girls Usagi noted that Ami was looking slightly disbelievingly at Sakuya. Minako appeared to be slowly fuming. Rei and Makoto were exchanging looks that said something was up. "Sako-chan," Usagi noted that Minako flinched, "can I ask you something?" Usagi queried. "Certainly, the others have been," Sakuya noted with a hint of amusement. "When Rubeus blasted the others on the crosses you collapsed in pain and then started to fade, why?" Sighing slightly Sakuya stood up and faced Makoto. "Mako-chan, there is something I need to tell you. I'm going to answer Usagi's question if, and only if, you want the others to hear what I'm going to say?" Makoto bit her lip, "I think they should hear it if you don't mind," Makoto said nervously. "Well as you know I am related to you." Seeing Makoto's nod Sakuya continued, "I however am not your cousin." Makoto looked on in confusion. "But how can that be? That only leaves only a few remaining possibilities," Ami said, "Niece, but Makoto doesn't have any sisters or brothers." Makoto nodded in affirmative. Ami noted she was starting to look a little pale. "The only other one that I could think of that matches to the generation data would be..." Ami trailed off as Sakuya was beaming with a brilliant smile. After repeated attempts to operate her mouth Ami said, "But... but that's impossible!" "Not so loud," Usagi hissed, the others looked at Usagi and for the first time noted that Chibi-Usa was curled up in her arms fast asleep. "What's impossible?" Minako asked as she observed Makoto was turning an interesting shade of white. Sakuya had just one word, "Obaa-san." That's when Makoto fainted. The others stared for a moment flabbergasted until Rei started to giggle. "I wouldn't laugh, Rei-chan." "Why Sakuya-san?" "Rei-chan, you're also indirectly responsible for my birth." This caused Rei's laughter to stop, "What?!? How could I be indirectly responsible of your birth?" "Because Rei-chan, in short, you marry and one of several of your children over the years will eventually be born and turn out to be my grandfather." "Sev...sev...several children!" Rei squeaked out. "Yes several children... I believe from the time you first marry to the time that I come from, you have roughly sixty-two." Sakuya watched with even more amusement as Rei dropped like a stone. "What about the rest of us?" Minako queried. "Sorry, I can't say anything more." "That's not fair!" Minako protested, "How come they get the scoop and we don't?" "Minako, what are you whining about now?" Artemis' voice came floating over. Sakuya thought. Chapter 7 "Thank goodness your home!" Ikuko said as Usagi came in the door. "Where did you find her? Why didn't you come home last night?" Usagi silently went upstairs followed closely by her mother. Gently putting Chibi-Usa down, she put the little girl's pajamas on and made her comfortable. Turning to her mother, Usagi said, "She was lonely and was angry at me. I found her in the park just a little while ago. I didn't come home last night because I was feeling guilty." Ikuko was torn between yelling at Usagi for scaring her to death and just trying to comfort her. "Come on, Usagi-chan, you look like your about to pass out on your feet. I'll get some food into you and then your going to bed too." Usagi was about to protest but decided that agreeing with her mother would be the easier then trying to fight. She followed Ikuko out of the room. ****** They were sitting at the kitchen table staring at each other. Makoto opened her mouth and then closed it again. After an obvious struggle with herself she said, "I'm almost afraid to believe it. I think it would hurt too much." "Obaa-san," Sakuya noted that Makoto flinched, "Gomen nasai, I just wanted to say, Mako-chan that I wouldn't do anything to hurt you. My reasons for not discussing somethings are valid though." Makoto looked uncomfortable, "I just don't like the idea that someone knows our future. Knows what happens and isn't willing to tell us." "I am not the enemy in that. I've already gone further than I should have. I'm not even supposed to be in this time." "How did you get here?" Makoto questioned. Sighing slightly, Sakuya wondered for the tenth time that day, if this was some cruel cosmic joke Pluto was playing on her because she disliked the woman of Time. ****** "Why am I still here?" Sakuya questioned. Pluto had sent the other Senshi into Chibi-Usa's dream to help save her. "You pose a grave threat to the timeline if you enter her dream." "It is my responsibility to protect Small Lady. Now send me into her dream so I can help the others!" Sakuya could feel her anger building, "No," Pluto said coldly. "Pluto, you have an obligation to protect the Princess. That means that you must let me into her dreams!" Sakuya said, her voice had been growing steadily louder. "Please, Sakuya-san, not so loud. Ikuko is downstairs you know," Luna interjected. She could tell that this new strange Senshi, Sailor Pluto, knew the Younger Jupiter and for some reason, they hated each other. Making a visible effort to control herself Sakuya tried a different tack. "You endanger Small Lady, Pluto. What do you think she will do when I tell her you wouldn't let me help?" Pluto didn't respond but the venom in her eyes said everything. "What do you think she would do if she knew that you wouldn't even let Obaa-san see her child when she knew where she was?" "That was necessary. This is necessary..." Pluto was about to say more when Sakuya broke in. "Was it necessary to trick Small Lady into coming back here? I wonder when did you give the Black Moon Family the defense codes so they could get their attack fleet within range of Crystal Tokyo unnoticed?" "I did not betray my Queen." "Ah but you did, Pluto. Just like you betrayed Queen Serenity in the Silver Millennium when you allowed Beryl's forces to conquer the Moon. Your two grunts were away from the Moon at the time the attack came. Where did you hide them when the attack came on Crystal Tokyo?" "You are interfering in the timeline. I can not permit you to go inside Small Lady's dream to help. Would you give up being a Senshi if your Makoto-san had gone to be with her daughter? If she had found her daughter and brought her back to Crystal Tokyo, would you be willing to give up your existence for that?" Pluto said coldly. "Yes... Pluto that's what is different about us. I'm human, Pluto, with human emotions. You don't give people a chance to choose. You simply dictate to them." Luna and Artemis had been watching this duel go on now for several minutes. Each seemed to be entrenched in their own opinion. Just as Pluto opened to retort, there was a flash of light and the Senshi returned. "Thank you for helping Small Lady," Pluto said ignoring for the moment the still seething Sakuya. "Sakuya-san, why weren't you there?" Minako asked. "This `time witch' wouldn't allow me into Chibi-Usa-chan's dream to help," Sakuya said quietly. "Is that true?" Makoto demanded. "Yes. Usagi-san, please look after Small Lady." "Puu!" came the weak voice of Chibi-Usa, "Can I go home?" "No Small Lady, the enemy has a new plan. You must stay here." "Yeah, I just bet they have a new plan. When did you give it to them, Pluto?" Sakuya retorted while walking over to the bed. Pluto flashed a look of venom and faded out. "I want to go home..." Chibi-Usa said softly. "Don't worry, Chibi-Usa-chan. Until you do go home, your onee-san will be here," Usagi said softly while hugging the little girl. Usagi wondered as she felt the small arms of Chibi-Usa wrap around her neck. Makoto noticed that Sakuya wasn't looking good. The anger had drained out of her and now she was just leaning against a wall staring vacantly off into space. Walking over Makoto asked, "Sako-chan, what's wrong?" "Obaa-san," Sakuya whispered, "I was just thinking that I never got to know my mother because of Pluto. I'm just worried that Pluto will do something so Small Lady won't see her future mother again."
