It's Back!! After a long absence Master of the Dragon returns to the Internet, better than ever!
You are invited to participate in the Tournament of the Dragon. A full contact, no holds barred hand to hand competititon held yearly at Moroboshi Temple in Nara, Japan. Fighters from around the globe and representing all forms will be allowed. Train well, the true test lies before you.
What is Master of the Dragon?
Master of the Dragon (or just MOD) is an email game in which players create and train a fighter to participate in the temple's tournament. Each week they will train their fighter and have them participate in a match against another player. A season runs for 10 matches, after which the best fighters compete for the title of master.
The system is an intense and realistic portrayal of hand to hand combat. There is no quaranteed strategy by which to win. Victory comes from a combination of physical ability, skill, effective use of style, and fighting spirit. It is a challenging game which is designed to be explored, players may, if they wish, exchange email addressess and discuss training and fighting strategies.
How do I play?
One turn is played per week, matches are held on Wednesday. Between matches you will be notified how many training points you may spend. Players then spend points on various areas of their fighter. Players then may make changes to their style or fighting strategy for the upcoming fight. Fights are then posted weekly on the Current Standings page.
How realistic is the system?
Intense, the system takes into account individual skill, speed, endurance and physique. Fighters may be injured, possibly even killed, though this should be very rare. Attacks from all forms of martial arts and self defense systems have been included. Striking, Grappling, Submission, Throws, Fakes and more are all factors in a match. Fighters even learn to anticipate repetitive attacks from an opponent during a match and alter their style based on their opponent's position.
The system has recently been updated, improving timekeeping, fatigue and playability. The best has gotten better.
How can I join?
At present, MOD is in it's beta test phase. The demand is quite high for players and the wait, for now, is quite long (several months before play).
An automated fight system in in development that will allow unlimited players, but that also, is several months away.
If you are willing to wait, you are more than welcome to join our waiting list and you will join the game at the very first opportunity.
Contact me at my email link at the bottom of the page if you wish to join the waiting list. No character information is necessary.
Don't Feel like Playing?
You can still be one of our spectators. Just bookmark this page, and come back every Wednesday and check out the Current Standings. Feel free to root your favorite fighter on to Master.
