Welcome to our site for Bobbin Lacemakers.  Bobbin lacemaking is an absorbing hobby enjoyed by thousands of people around the world.  It is an ancient craft which has no known creation date.  What is known is that bobbin lace was being made in the 1500's in Europe, firstly for furnishings but which developed into exquisite fine and intricate designs, finding its height in the 1700's.  The patterns in this site are all for modern day hobby lacemakers and they come with clear diagrams and working instructions, so that the patterns can be attempted and/or continued at home.

Would you like help with the design on which you are currently working or will be working? Would you like help to begin making lace?
