SMCHS Model United Nations Freshman Conference

Saturday, September 28, 2002 (9am - 3pm)

What is the SMCHS MUN Freshman Conference?

We like to call the SMCHS Freshman Conference a "learning conference". Delegates need little to no preparation for the conference. The purpose is to introduce Freshmen to the MUN experience in a relaxed environment. It is designed for student delegates who have absolutely no idea what MUN is, but want to find out. At SMCHS, delegates will simulate the General Assembly or different specialized agencies of the United Nations. Listed below are the committees and topics we will be simulating. As you research your topics remember that you are not researching the problem or issue within your country. Rather, you are researching the problem or issue worldwide. You will then be representing your country at a simulated UN meeting to discuss this global issue. The cost of the conference is $10 per delegate/student advisor.
