Welcome To My Projects Page!

Time to face the music, time to stand up to the challenge... Can she really crochet? Here are a few pictures of my work, and my works in progress...

This blanket is taken from an old crochet book a friend gave me, and has been in the works for about 2 years. It is 9 panels of afghan stitch, bound by lace crochet work. The roses are cross-stitched on. There are two panels, a top and a bottom piece, that are not pictured here (because they are not done yet). Likely, this will still be in the works for awhile.

This is a recently finished project, with two companion pieces in the works. I found the pattern on the web, and thought it a little beyond my experience, but was happily surprised how easily it actually did work. The most intriguing aspect of this pattern was it's copyright the webpage listed... 1949. Did I mention that I love vintage pieces?

This blanket is worked using a very dainty white wool yarn with a silver fiber running in it. While the picture cannot show the detail, it makes for a very stunning blanket. It makes a very nice "show blanket", you can look, but don't dare touch!

This blanket was made using 2 strands (one verigated purple and green, and one black) with a size N hook. It's a very simple shell pattern, and works up very quickly. I have made several of these in a variety of colors for my husband's mother and friends.

This raspberry blanket was worked with 2 strands and an N hook. It is worked in back loops, and shows a very nice raised edging. The bobbles are in the shape of diamonds. The whole blanket is done in hdc, and makes a very thick, warm TV blanket.

This one has to be one of the most amazing blankets I have ever had a chance to do. I made it for my husband for Christmas the first year we were together. It is made in two pieces. The square centerpiece is done first. The outside pineapple edging is worked as one piece, including the corners. It is then laid like a frame around the center.

When I tell everyone that my husband crochets, they are so amazed. I promised pictures of his work, and here they are! This blanket was done in cotton yarn in a speckled verigated pattern. He freehanded this blanket, boxes in boxes, and added a very frilly ruffle!

I told ya'll he was good!! This is his favorite shell design in Lion Brand Homespun yarn. The color is Waterfall. He is now working on a companion piece to this blanket in the same yarn, color Pacifica. This yarn makes an amazingly soft and snuggly blanket!

More pictures on the way! Keep checking back often for more surprises!
