COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Riding & Street Skills (RSS) Cost: $50.00 / 23 Contact Hrs.
Prerequisites:
1. Near legal riding age (valid driving license)
2. Parental permission (student under age 18)
3. Be able to ride a bicycle (balance)
4. Complete a waiver form (first class)
Course Topics:
Classroom (Basic Skills Development, Level I):
1. Introduction and objectives
2. Motorcycle control, gear and rules
3. Riding straight
Classroom (Basic Skills Development, Level II):
1. SIPDE, visibility and positioning
2. Turning and braking procedures
3. Special riding situations
4. Local regulations (test preparation)
Range (Riding Exercises):
Level I:
1. Starting, stopping and friction zones
2. Circles, weaving, turning and riding slowly
3. Sharp turns, shifting and turning
4. Stopping quickly and on curves.
Level II:
1. Selecting gaps
2. Turning from a stop
3. Lane changing
4. Controlling rear wheel skids
5. Stopping situations
6. Evaluation (skills or riding test)
Schedule:
Friday 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Saturday 7:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday 7:00am - 5:00pm
Requirements:
Attend ALL classes, ride ALL exercises, wear protective equipment at ALL times. This includes: helmet, long sleeve shirt, long trousers, full finger gloves, over-the-ankle foot wear, and eye protection.
Experienced Rider's Course (ERC) Cost: $30.00 / 11 Contact Hrs.
Prerequisites:
1. Must own street legal motorcycle and pass the "T-Clock" inspection by the instructor (loaners accepted with written authority to operate)
2. Provide proof of ownership
3. Have motorcycle license endorsement
4. Parental permission (students under age 18)
5. Complete waiver form (first class)
Course Topics:

2. Visibility, lane positioning and protective gear
3. Physical and mental requirements
4. Braking, cornering and swerving
5. Local regulations (test preparation)
Range (Riding Exercises):
1. Overall control and stopping principles
2. Controlling rear wheel skids and quick stops
3. Countersteering for cornering
4. Cornering situations
5. Countersteering for swerving
6. Brake, then swerve
7. Stopping quickly on a curve
8. Swerve, then brake

Saturday 7:00am - 1:00pm
