Unofficial Peri Gilpin Page

Welcome to the Unofficial Peri Gilpin Page! For those of you who might not know, Peri is best known for playing Roz Doyle on the hit NBC sitcom "Frasier", which is preparing to begin it's fifth season on the air.

Feel free to look around and browse. And check back every so often, this is definitely a work in progress. And if you should happen to have anything to contribute (news, pictures, general info) contributions are gratefully accepted and will be credited, so everybody will know what a class act you are (But then, since you're at least interested in Peri, that goes without saying).

Update (16 Sep 98)

Well the first anniversary of the page has come and gone and a long overdue update to the page is finally here.  Quite a bit of news about Peri to catch up on.  First, Peri's character Roz gave birth towards the end of last season on Frasier.  Alice May Doyle will probably herald some changes for Roz on the show, we shall see what will happen as the new season unfolds.  As for Peri herself, she's been keeping very busy.  It's been reported that she has done voiceover work for both Wells Fargo bank and Keds shoes.  She also has been featured on the covers of Canadian TV Guide and Prevention's Guide Cats & Dogs.  Peri also landed a stage role in the play "When Bees in Honey Drown" (albeit shortlived, the show closed shortly after she joined the cast).  She will also be appearing in the independent film "Spring Forward".  Keep a watch on your local movie listings.  Finally pictures from all of Peri's magazine appearances as well as some additional pictures I've gotten will be added to the gallery when time (and life) permit.

Finally let me add a big "Thank You" to all of you who have visited.  And thanks also to those of who have taken the time to send along your questions and comments about the page.  Pride of authorship aside, I want to make this page as enjoyable for you as I can, so I'm willing to entertain most any reasonable request concerning the page..

Well, after many delays and false starts I've finally gotten the pictures scanned and the text written describing my trip down to Los Angeles where I watched the filming of the "Ski Lodge" episode and I got to meet Peri.  You can read the story by clicking here or on the link above.  In other news about Peri, she's racked up a couple of more magazine appearances;  one on the cover of the Canadian TV Guide and the other being an eight-page story and photo spread in the April issue of "In Style" magazine

Well the big day has come and gone.  On the 27th of January I finally flew down to Los Angeles and got to watch the taping of a Frasier episode.  I won't go into great detail here.  I'm just waiting to get access to a scanner so I can scan some pictures in for a page devoted to the trip.  I will say that I had a great time and I encourage everyone to go watch a taping if you ever get the chance.  And I got to meet and talk with Peri!  After the show was finished she came over and shook hands autographed a copy of the TV Guide cover that she was on and posed for picture with me on the KACL set. A great big "Thank You!" to everyone who made the trip possible and so enjoyable especially Peri, Marshall from Paramount and David Willis.

More non-Frasier TV appearances for Peri.  A visit to the Rosie O'Donnell show while Rosie was visiting the West Coast.  And starting on the 9th of February Peri has been guest hosting on Later.  Guests have included Malcolm Getz, Kelsey Grammer and Jane Leeves.  Expect David Hyde Pierce as guest for the last show tonight.

Additionally the second pictures page now features some nice vidcaps of Peri looking quite stylish and beautiful from the Golden Globes arrival show on E!  Many thanks to rwcar4@op.net (sorry, I never did get your real name).  I hope you all enjoy the additions and I promise to get the report on the filming up as soon as I can get the pictures scanned without spending a small fortune doing it.

Season's Greetings everyone!  Time to update the webpage and let you all know what's been going on.  The page is finally listed in Yahoo! and the traffic has really jumped.  Almost 1500 visits in the last week alone!  Thanks to all of you for visiting.  There have been some minor content additions, and I'm always on the look out for new items to add.  If you see something that would be a nice addition to the page, drop me a line and let me know.

We've been seeing quite a bit of Peri lately.  In addition to the VQT panel (see the link above) and the cover of TV Guide's  12-19 Dec issue, we've also had the cast interview on the Larry King show, solo appearances on "Politically Incorrect" and "Live with Regis and Kathy Lee", as well as the recent (19 Dec) rebroadcast of "Fight for Justice:  The Nancy Conn Story" on the Lifetime channel.  All this as well as some great "Frasier" episodes (including the 100th, see the Seattle Location Pictures) for us to enjoy.

And now for the BIG NEWS.  On the 27th of January I'm off to Los Angeles to see a taping of an episode of "Frasier".  I expect the trip to be a lot fun and am really looking forward to it.  I'll document as much as I can, and post the story here on the page for you all to enjoy.

A couple of minor changes here on the page.  The photos have been split into two pages to ease the download burden for folks.  A few more quotes have been added to the quotes page.  As of yesterday the page had cracked the 900 hits barrier in a little over a month and looked to go over 1,000 some time this week.  Glad so many people are enjoying the page.  Also, check the Seattle location pictures page for a new photo.  A nice, casual shot taken by Shirley  Ann Cowden last December.  Shirley found herself staying at the same hotel as Peri, while Peri was in England for Jane Leeves' wedding.  Many thanks to Shirley for sending the photo along to the page; the original now occupying a place of honor  on my computer desk.

Tomorrow marks the airing of the big Halloween episode, where Peri's character Roz finds out she's pregnant. Hopefully this marks the beginning of much expanded role for Peri on the show.  Don't forget to fire up those VCRs.

Well, the pictures of Peri from the Seattle location filming for the 100th episode of Frasier have finally arrived!  And I must say, they look quite nice indeed.  Be sure to stop by and check them out.  Big thanks go out to Duncan Lynskey for taking the pictures and offering to make them available.  Duncan also manages to appear as a (non-speaking) extra in the 100th episode in two (count 'em two) scenes.  Additional thanks to Linda Martin for helping to get the pictures here for you to enjoy.

More updates to the page.  More and more pictures on the photo page.  I'm actually managing to acquire a bit of a gallery in my hours cruising the Web.  I've also snagged a newspaper article pertaining to a stage appearance that Peri made in Tennessee.  The quotes page is in place.  Feel free to submit your favorite Peri/Roz quotes.  Hopefully photos from the location filming in Seattle for the 100th episode will be here before long.

Congratulation to the cast and crew of "Frasier" for their well-deserved fourth consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.  The new series starts tomorrow.  Have your VCR warmed up.

Well, I've gotten my first feedback on the page, and glad to say, it was positive. It also included the first contribution to the page, the picture of Peri and Dan (Bulldog) Butler, taken at their on-line chat on MSN. Everyone remember to say thanks to Linda for passing it along for us to enjoy (Thanks Linda!). There's also a couple of cast photos that I've found which will be included too.

Near-terms updates to the page include links to related pages. Linda's David Hyde Pierce Page is the first. Anyone else who has a homepage for one of the cast or the show and would like a link from here, just write and ask. And if there aren't any other pages for the cast out there (and according to Yahoo! it looks pretty thin) then LET'S GET TO WORK PEOPLE! This is one of best ensemble casts working in TV; I figure a page for each of them isn't asking too much. Perhaps we can get all these pages linked and provide a little mutual support for each other.

I'm also looking at putting together a Guestbook for folks to leave and read comments. Once I figure out the HTML coding, it'll be up and running.
