Recovery from Mormonism

Especially for Women

Welcome! This web page is dedicated to and for women whose lives have been painfully touched by the Mormon church. As human beings, we share many common characteristics with men, but I have found, both as an active Mormon and as a recovering Mormon, that many topics and issues are of unique interest to women. I will say though, that many men have visited this site and have benefited from the stories found here.

This page has been mostly built by women who have ultimately chosen to leave the Mormon church, and thus has that perspective. Regardless, it is my personal hope that all women, whether active, doubting, less active, or post Mormon, who struggle with the Mormon faith or culture will find at least one place on this site that will bring them comfort and healing from their struggles. After all, beyond Mormonism, I am a woman. Even I don't agree with everything on this page....:) It is never my intention to tell anyone else what path in life is the right one for them whether Mormon or not. In that light, explore, laugh, cry, ponder, and always, "Take what you like and leave the rest."

If you have a story or idea for a topic you would like to contribute, please feel free to send it to me for consideration. If my email is any indication, the stories here are important both to the authors and readers. A special thank you to the various authors for sharing your stories.

New!!! This site is undergoing a major overhaul. The new main page is online now and can be seen at Facets of Mormonism. There is still a lot of work to be done on this site, but the changes are finally starting......:)

Essays:

Since this is 'my' web site, and I can do pretty much anything I want (except get the graphics to work right in Netscape--sigh), I thought I'd try something different. I might keep it, and I might not. There are often little issues that I notice in my life occasionally that show how the Mormon church has affected my life. These aren't always large enough to warrant a whole page, but are still worth a couple of paragraphs. Plus, I wanted to put a little of myself on this page instead of just stories by other women....:) Comments on the essays are welcome and may be added to the page.
