In a valley rimmed with mountains....        Covered by a sky of blue....      Stands our Alma Mater High School.....        With her colors brave and true.       May her standards never waver....     As we onward go eah day....       We'll fight for dear old Mountain View....      And her colors blue and gray.       Through the four short years of high school....      Each day we'll do our best....     To lift our Alma Mater....     A notch above the rest.     This is the goal we strive for....      Our cheers reach the sky.      And far above the other schools....                  The Blue and Gray will fly!

Mountain View Union High School was the last high school that exclusively served Mountain View residents. It truly reflected and represented the community of this city. It united our racially and economically diverse population under the colors Blue and Gray and the Eagle mascot. Even years after its demolition the spirit and memory of old Mountain View High lives on. This web page has been set up like a normal high school web page, as if Mountain View Union High School was still open today. Through various yearbooks, historic pictures, and family photos, I've tried to bring a piece of old Mountain View back to life here in A Guide to Mountain View.

What's this about the Mountain View Eagles? From 1924 to 1981, Mountain View High School on Castro Street was home to the Eagles, under the colors Blue and Gray. After the school was closed, the student body was split amongst the district's two remaining high schools.  Awalt High School got the name, and Los Altos High School got the colors and mascot.
