Labidolemur's Fanfic Recommendations
Recommending whatever catches my fancy -- gen, het, slash -- in whatever fandom I'm devouring at the moment.
Hercules/Xena
- An Iolaus a Day by Amorette is drop-dead hilarious and true to the goofy spirit of the show. Everything on the site is recommended but are Rewinding, Forked Tongue and Beware Egyptians Bearing Gifts are not to be missed. Amorette's site is The Mythadventures of Hercules and Company
- When Hellmouths Collide is the one Hercules story recommended just about everywhere -- for a reason. A Buffy/Hercules crossover, it's amazingly true to each series and by turns hilarious, exciting, and spooky. But it's not the only story at The Less than Legendary Journeys that's worth reading; King of Theives, Home is Where the Heart is (and its sequels), and Imagos are all worth reading.
- A Raising in the Sun and Necessary Evils take off from the end of season 5 and run with it. It's an amazing look into moral ambiguity in the Buffyverse, with Spike and Willow being the two on the spot. Definitely Buffy/Spike, but with a good ensemble feel to it -- at Barb C's BTVS fanfic
- Axe and Bow Hosts many fine Legolas & Gimli stories. Some are gen, some are slash, but all of them focus on the deep friendship from Tolkien's pen. I particularly recommendand A Time and Times and Half a Time by Honesty anf Back to the Beginning by Adina
- They Say of the Elves by Brancher is beautiful -- a perfect of example of the right words in the right place.
