The Atlantic Rowing race was a competition open to men and women between the ages of 18 and 60. The race started in Tenerife and finished in Barbados a distance of nearly 3000 miles .Each crew used identical 7.1 metre boats and were totally self sufficient for the duration of the trip.
The winning boat set a new World Record for the fastest rowed crossing.
