About The Band
SONIPATH
A Day In The Life
The clubs just closed a few hours ago. As the day of rest begins, most musicians
are tucked away in their bed. That's when the phone rings.
"Hello", Rich grumbles into the phone with one
eye open.
"Dude, sorry to call you so early...." DJ says
apologetically.
"It's 9:30 Sunday morning!!!!!" Rich growls.
"I know. Listen, I got a gig lined up. I found
a flyer on the floor at a show last night saying there'd be 7 bands at a
show. I found out 1 had to cancel, so I called immediately and they said
they'd let us play."
"Why couldn't you tell me tonight at practice?"
"Well....because it's today...a matinee...we
go on at 1 o'clock!" DJ says smiling.
"1 o'clock today! That's in less than 4 hours!"
"Yup. The other guys are on their way. By the
way, it's at a skateboard park!"
"I guess I won't bother showering. See you in
a few".
As this short glimpse will attest, SONIPATH will seize every opportunity
to display their creativity and infect listeners anywhere with their breed
of heavy and hooky music from their latest CD,
HEAVY HOOKS. Beyond their strident
devotion to showmanship, these 5 musicians possess intelligence and
responsibility. DJ Moran, SONIPATH's vocalist, trains for running
marathons, which in turn gives him the endurance required to perform live
shows with furious blasts of energy. Despite the fact that he is currently
completing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (I'm very proud of ya!), he still
exhibits psychotic behavior on-stage. Pete Andrews, founding guitarist,
also adds a dose of insanity to the sounds of SONIPATH. Textbook melodies
and licks have no place in Pete's style.
Rich Fumasoli,
guitarist, was a student of environmental health yet does genetic experiments
with his guitar, conjuring up rythmns that push and shove SONIPATH's songs.
Rich has an undeniable knack for obliterating boundaries and contorting common
sounds into ear-grabbing riffs. Scott Gramlich, the band's funky bassist,
is Chief engineer of SG Custom Sound. His livelihood is music, equipment
and entertainment, and reflects his devotion to a music career. Prior to
making SONIPATH his main project, Scott could be found playing banjo for
a bluegrass band, practicing sitar, or playing bass with jazz ensembles.
Ambition and enthusiasm has earned Joe Tesoriere, the band's drummer,
a rewarding career as an auto-body shop manager. His enthusiastic and ambitious
nature is also displayed in his playing style. Surprisingly, nothing concocted
by SONIPATH has been too fast, too funky, or too flamboyant for Joe's
abilities....But they are still trying!
