Malaysian snail Eating Turtle (Malayemys subtrijuga)

Description: 8"carapace. Brown-black carapace, yellow-orange plastron, black around the sutures and on the lower surface of the plastron. Head, neck, and legs are all dark, with longitudal light bands that dissapear with age
Breeding: Not listed
Habitat: richly vegetated swamps, stagnant or slow moving waters. Eats mollusks and snails almost exclusively
Range: Malaysia, particularly in the Sunda Archipelago
Facts: Similiar to Emys orbicularis, and Chrysemys picta. In the aquarium its activity is diurnal.
