Guidelines
This
board was designed for fans to discuss OLTL in a friendly environment, and as
with most message boards on the Internet, there must be guidelines in order to
keep things functioning smoothly. The rules of this board
are quite simple – They are basic rules of common sense and courtesy. Any
messages that contain obscenities or personal attacks are deemed offensive and
will be removed.
1)
As
a Courtesy to Fellow Posters —
We
all have different opinions, and don’t always agree with something that
another poster says, but please try to disagree with the content of the message,
and not the poster.
2)
Personal
Attack Against Other Posters, Actors, and Other OLTL Fans —

Personal attacks are mean-spirited remarks about an
individual (not fictitious characters).
There is a huge difference when it is a personal attack against
the actor vs. the character. For example, calling a character a slut would be
acceptable, but calling an actor a slut is not acceptable.

It's perfectly acceptable and normal for fans to
discuss that an actor is showing their age, or gaining weight, not a great
actor, how they dress or fix their hair, etc, as long as it doesn't go to the
extent of name-calling. (ie, referring to an actor/character as thunder-thighs
or a wrinkled-old-prune is mean-spirited "name-calling," and
constitutes a personal attack).
Rule
of Thumb: If it's something a soap magazine might print, then it's perfectly
acceptable to post on the board.
3)
Advertising is Prohibited —
If

Because
this board is reserved for OLTL related topics, I cannot stress enough the
importance of e-mailing me when you have questions about board policies or are
experiencing problems with the board. If
it's a technical problem, I can report it to the Web Server; if there are
inappropriate posts, I can remove them; and, if you need an explanation about
board policies I can explain them. Most
important of all, if you communicate your questions and concerns directly to me
via e-mail, we can hopefully avoid misunderstandings and prevent problems from
escalating.
With
so many terrible things going on in this world, let’s try our best to keep
this board a friendly and happy little haven that we can escape to, even if only
for a few minutes each day. Thank you for helping to keep this a user-friendly
board that everyone can enjoy.
