DePaiva recorded her CD in
Nashville,

DePaiva’s first CD, “Naked” showcased DePaiva's soulful
and vulnerable side, where this time around, the songs are more up tempo. It's
contemporary country.

Get
Naked
- Audio CD by Kassie DePaiva
Kassie DePaiva
(Blair, OLTL) wrote six of the 11 tracks on this CD, which also includes a
k.d. lang
tune. "They're songs that are really from a woman's point of view, very
strong," Kassie explains. Husband James DePaiva (Max, OLTL) does a
duet with her — A Steve Warner song, "Natural History." Country
singer Bryan White, who happens to be the husband of Erika Page
(Roseanne, OLTL), is also featured on the album as he and Kassie recorded two of
the songs, - one, a cover of Patty Smyth's You Hung The Moon, the other A Lesson
I'll Never Learn, which Kassie wrote. She penned the song, about a woman
suffering unrequited love for someone she divorced.
"Naked" is available for purchase through Amazon.com, for the price of
$14.99.
Message from Kassie on the inside of the CD:
This album has been a lifetime coming. It has been a labor of love from the very beginning. Some of the songs I've written, the rest are ones I've loved and always wanted to record. They express where I've been in my life, where I'd like to be, or where I'm going. I chose them straight from the heart and sang them straight from the heart. I wanted to expose my inner self... thus the title Naked. I dedicate this music to all the women who have inspired, challenged, and taught me over the years that I could be anything I wanted if I worked hard enough. Women who have given me the courage to be me. This is a woman's album and no matter where you are on your journey I hope this music will guide you home. Listen with your heart.

Watching Daytime Soap Operas The Power of Pleasure Books Louise Spence
Though wildly popular, daytime soaps are arguably the most denigrated and
parodied of any contemporary entertainment form. For this reason, even the most
devoted soap opera fans are often reticent or even secretive about the shows
they love. Watching Daytime Soap Operas is a meditation on the pleasures--and
displeasures--of watching and talking about daytime soap operas. In this
multidisciplinary study, Louise Spence talks to 25 women about their mostly
solitary viewing practices and observes many Internet chat rooms. Over 20 years
in the making, the book explores the varied critical and creative ways in which
the women use soap operas in their lives. Spence draws on work in reception
studies, and pays particular attention to the question of what it means to be a
fan. She ultimately challenges the accepted belief that soap opera viewers are
passive consumers of escapist fantasy. Her study expands the current literature
of this largely misunderstood television genre while making an important
contribution to the field of film-TV studies.

Women and Soap Opera - Dannielle Blumenthal
Women's soap opera viewing has long been thought of by feminists and nonfeminists as an unproductive waste of time. Blumenthal takes the opposing view, arguing that women's "indulgence" in these programs is actually liberating. This book will be of interest to academics in the areas of sociology, women's studies, and media studies.
