Daniel pushed the door to the break room open slowly. He wearily trudged in grateful it was empty, but then most of the places people usually met to socialize were pretty empty. Not that he was complaining. He really didn't feel like talking to anyone either. Everyone, especially the male population of the base had been rather sedate the last couple of days, since, his mind refused to say her name. Daniel suppressed a shudder and reached for a coffee cup.

The little radio on the counter blared away. He cocked an eyebrow at it and shrugged. Not country for once, he noted as he filled his cup with coffee. He slumped back against the counter and sighed, savoring the bitter liquid. Vaguely, he noticed the music on the radio had changed.

A Thousand Thundering Thrills await me.

Facing insurmountable odds gratefully.

The female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Daniel followed General Hammond and Jack into the holding cell. A young woman in a trench coat stood in the middle of the room with her back to them.

"Ma'am? I'm General Hammond, US Air Force," the general addressed her and she turned around, her red hair blazing in the glow of the fluorescent lights.

"Yes?" she eyed him warily.

"And you are?" he prompted.

She glared at him. "We are Hathor. It would be wise to unbind us and kneel before your goddess."

"Hello?" Jack said raising his eyebrows.

Daniel ignored him. "Hathor?"

She looked at him and cocked her head. "Yes?"

Jack turned to look at Daniel. "Have you heard of her?" he asked.

Daniel couldn't seem to take his eye off of her. His mind kicked into high gear and he answered, "Hathor was the Egyptian goddess of fertility, inebriety, and music."

Jack eyebrows rose another notch. "Drugs, sex, and rock and roll?"

Daniel nodded, "In a matter of speaking," He glanced toward Hammond. "Um, are the cuff absolutely necessary?" he asked, motioning to the restraints. Hammond nodded to him and he started over to her. She turned to let him work on the restrains. "Lucky, they didn't chain her to the bed," he mumbled as he loosened them. He glance back to the General and Jack. "What's she going to do? Beat us up?"

"Sorry about that," he said, slipping them off of her delicate wrist

She faced him, her delicate features seemed to glow despite the harshness of the fluorescent lighting. "Your effort will not go unrewarded," she said, a smile curving her lips. She reached down and took his hand in hers and gently kissed it. Her breath stirring the hair on the back of his hand.

A buzz filled Daniel's head, making his blood boil and his head swim. He sunk down on the bunk beside her. Vaguely, he could hear Jack and General Hammond questioning her, but they seemed somehow far away and not important.

"So, Ms Hathor," he could hear Hammond saying. "Would you mind telling us why, exactly, you were trying to get into this facility?"

"I was drawn to the Chaappa'ia," she stated.

"That was what your monk buddies on Chulak called the Stargate," Jack said, looking at Daniel.

Daniel realized Jack was talking him and he got back to his feet. "Um, yes, it's also Abyidonian and ancient Egyptian."

Hammond interrupted him. "What I want to know is what makes you think it here?"

Hathor looked at him as if he were a dim witted child. "We were drawn to it."

Jack rolled his eyes. "We?"

Hathor glared at them and looked around the small holding cell. "Where is Ra?" she demanded.

"Ra is," Daniel started, but Hammond interrupted him.

"Doctor Jackson, need to know."

Daniel licked his lips and started again. "Ra is a myth. He doesn't actually exist." There was something about this woman. He wasn't sure what it was.

Jack tilted his head back and studied the woman. "Miss...Hathor, what made you think this Chaappia was here?"

Hathor looked at him oddly. like he should already know this. "The Chaappia was what gave power to our father and our husband."

Hammond looked over his shoulder at Daniel. "Who's she talking about Doctor Jackson?"

Daniel licked his lips and tried to think of the easiest way to explain this. "Um, Hathor was both the daughter and wife of Ra in Egyptian mythology. That was until Ra was said to have corrupted her."

Hathor's blue eyes blazed in fury. "We were not corrupted!"

"Of course," Daniel conceded quicky. "No disrespect intended."

Hathor glared at them. Her voice turned haughty, "We are the mother of all pharaohs."

"Of course we are," Jack said sarcastically. He nodded his head in the direction of the door and Hammond and Daniel followed him over. "Why don't 'we' call county general and see if we can find a nice little rubber room for the lady."

Hammond shook his head. "Crazy or not, I want to know what she knows." He turned to face Daniel, "Doctor Jackson talk to her, see what you can find out, but don't tell her anything she doesn't already know," he cautioned him.

Daniel nodded. "OK." He stood there as Jack and Hammond turned to go.

"You with the crown of marble!" Hathor shouted suddenly.

They stopped. Jack glanced at Hammond with barely contained smirk. "She might mean you, sir."

Hathor ignored him and fixed her eyes on Hammond. "You are the ruler here?"

"Yes, Ma'am," Hammond said, civilly.

Hathor smiled and her tone softened. "May we take your hand?"

Hammond bristled, instantly suspicious. "Why?"

"We wish to kiss it to bless you with fertility and joy," Hathor stated, simply.

Jack tried not to chuckle. "Well, you can't pass that up, sir."

"Yes, I can," Hammond started for the door.

"Sir," Daniel stopped him. He had to. He wasn't quite sure why, but he had to. "It might help me if you play into her delusions." He saw the distrustful look in the General's eye. "To keep her talking," Daniel added.

Hammond sighed and walked over to the woman. Hathor smiled and took his hand in hers and gently kissed it. Hammond's face softened for a moment and then he seemed to pull himself back together and walked back to where Jack and Daniel were standing.

Jack walked over the thumped on the door. The guard outside slid the bold back and the door swung open. Daniel watched them go. Hathor walked up behind him as soon door was shut and ran her fingers across the back of his shoulders. Her touch was electric, setting his senses on fire.

"Where is Ra?"

Daniel followed her with his eyes. "Well, he's," his voice trailed off as she started to stroke his cheek. Her scent filled him and he found it hard to think. "Um, I hate to be the one to tell you, but Ra is dead."

Hathor stepped back, her face unreadable. Suddenly, Daniel started to wonder why he told her that. Hammond had said not to tell her any more than she already knew.

"How?"

"He was killed.

A smile slowly spread across her lovely face. "This is wonderful." Her eyes narrowed pinning him to the spot. "How did he die?"

"He was killed." He grew bolder when he saw how pleased she was. "We killed him."

Hathor's smile grew. "Then we owe you our gratitude." She said coming up closer to him again. Her presence seemed to fill him. "Perhaps we should chose you to be our new beloved." She walked around him and he turned to watch her. "Together," she stopped facing him. "We should celebrate." She pulled him closer. "Come."

Daniel leaned in against her and she pulled his head down to meet hers. Their lips met and everything around them seemed to disappear.

Shock shock horror horror shock shock horror.

I'll shout myself hoarse for your supernatural force.

The female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Oh she deals in witchcraft and one kiss and I'm zapped.

"Um," Jack said slowly. "I suppose we should let you get some," he took a deep breath and forced himself to take a step back, "Rest." He started to back towards the door out of the guest quarters.

"Yes," Hammond echoed following him.

Daniel turned to follow them and Hathor called out, "Doctor Jackson, please remain. We have other questions."

Daniel stopped. "Sure," he said, closing the door. He walked over to her. She sent filled him, consumed him.

Hathor smiled and stepped closer. "It is time you become our chosen one."

Daniel was confused. "Chosen one?" Chosen for what? he wondered.

Hathor stepped closer, her eyes staring deep into his. "Will you always honor us?"

"Yes," Daniel said, slowly. Why wouldn't he?

Hathor pressed herself against him. Her breath tickled against his throat. "Would you die for us?"

Daniel paused. "Die?" A small voice nagged at him from the back of his mind, telling him he couldn't, this wasn't right.. He looked at the woman standing before him and the voice disappeared back into the recesses of his mind. "Yes."

Oh how can heaven hold a place for me.

When a girl like you has cast a spell on me.

Oh how can heaven hold a place for me.

When a girl like you has cast a spell on me.

The door to the gate room grated open and Daniel stepped back for Hathor to enter. She walked into the room and glanced over at him. "Tell us, our beloved. What are the questions swelling in you mind?"

Daniel watched her walk up the ramp to the gate. He couldn't help but gap at her this was so amazing. "I spent years studying you as a student and now I'm with you. Did you know that in history you are described as the most beautiful woman that ever was, ever will be? Able to control men with just your beauty."

Hathor's gaze lingered on the Stargate, her fingers caressing the Naquada circle. "We are pleased to see you old friend," she said huskily. "It will not be long before you will service us once again." She turned to face Daniel, a small smile curving her perfectly formed lips. "Tell us, do you believe this to be true now that you have come to know us?"

Daniel knew he was grinning like a school boy, but he couldn't seem to stop himself. "Well, I have a deeper understanding of if now." 'Oh, boy do I ever,' he thought.

Hathor smiled regally down at him. "We are the queen of the gods. We are the mother of all gods."

Daniel nodded his head, "Yes." Suddenly, he realized he had no ideas what she was talking about. "What does that mean exactly?"

Hathor chuckled. "From us, all others come." She said slowly, as if this was some fact he should already know. Like some long forgotten lesson that was so simple only the most foolish of minds could have forgotten it.

His brow furrowed in confusion. "I don't understand."

Hathor gave a long suffering sigh. "The Jaffa has a Goa'uld child in his belly."

Daniel nodded, "A larva, yes." Ok, this he did understand.

Her brows raised in question. "Did you ever wonder from whence the children come?"

Realization slowly dawned in his mind, along this a sense of dread deep in the pit of his stomach. "Are you saying they come from you?"

Hathor smiled sweetly, like a serpent trying to beguile her next victim. "Yes, and others like us."

Daniel let out a small gasp and took a step back. His let out a started curse. "You're like a queen bee! You created the Goa'ulds."

Frankenstein and Dracula have nothing on you.

Jekyll and Hyde join the back of the queue.

The female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Daniel followed Hathor into the guest quarters. Questions till raced in his mind, each fighting for the right to be asked. "So you actually create the larva? How?"

Hathor walked to the center of the room and turned to face him. "We must first have the code of life from the juices of the species intended as the host."

Daniel walked over to her. His brow creased as he struggled to understand what she was saying. "Code of life?"

She looked at him as if he were a child, slow witted, yet beloved. "To ensure the compatibility of the Goa'uld child and the host."

Suddenly, he understood. "DNA. You mean you need DNA to prevent rejection." This was fascinating, appalling, but fascinating.

Hathor smiled and pulled him closer. "The code of life." Her hands caressed him, pushing his fatigue jacket off his shoulders. "We do so enjoy the method of procuring it in your species. It is much more pleasurable than most." Her hands rested on his shoulders. Her touch was electric.

"I bet," he said tightly. His tone a mixture of repulsion and attraction.

Hathor smiled wolfishly. Since you are to be our first pharaoh. You will honor us with being the one to supply us with the code." She moved to pull him closer, her lips raised to meet his.

Daniel bulked and grabbed her arm to keep her at bay. Fear tinged his voice, "You want me to help you make more Goa'ulds?"

Suddenly, her scent filled him, enclosed him. All thought fled, save to obey her, love her. Over powered him. Resistance melted like water. She gently pushed his arm down. "Now that Ra is gone we are finally free to rule this planet. With you, our beloved, at our side for all eternity." She pulled his head down and her lips found his and met in a passionate kiss. He leaned into her, all resistance gone, all thought gone, save her.

Oh she wants to conquer the world completely

But first she'll conquer me discreetly

The female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Daniel sat on the edge of the bed numbly. She had told him to wait here until she returned, and he would wait. The door to the room slammed open and people poured into the room. He was dimly aware of voice, female voices, but they were not her. If they were not her, then it didn't matter.

"Daniel?" One of the voices was talking to him?

"Daniel, are you alright?" Why was the voice talking to him, it wasn't her voice.

Another voice said something and the first voice went away. He would wait. She would come for him. She had promised she would come for him.

Oh she deals in witchcraft and one kiss and I'm zapped.

Oh how can heaven hold a place for me.

When a girl like you has cast a spell on me.

Daniel blinked and shook his head. The control room? What was he doing here? He looked around and saw Jack and Sam. "Hey, what's going on? I must have blacked out."

Sam and Jack whipped around to look at him. Sam's eyebrows shot up. "I guess she must need to stay in proximity to keep control."

Jack gave her a look as confused as Daniel felt. "Control what?"

Daniel's eyes narrowed in confusion and concern. "What? What are you talking about?" He had a horrible feeling something had happened. Something big and he knew he wasn't going to like it when he found out.

Oh how can heaven hold a place for me.

When a girl like you has cast a spell on me.

"Daniel?"

Daniel let out a started yelp and nearly tossed his coffee cup across the break room. Sam jumped back to avoid getting splatter by the coffee that sloshed out onto the floor.

"Oh, Sam. I'm sorry," Daniel quickly apologized, blushing furiously. He shook the spilt coffee off his hand and began to look around behind him for a napkin.

"You ok?" she asked, handing him a napkin.

Daniel gave her sheepish grin. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little jumpy I guess."

"Then you really don't need this,"' Sam said in her best big sister mode, taking the coffee cup from him. Her tone softened, "Not sleeping again?"

Daniel sighed and lean back against the counter "No," he said quietly, He ran his fingers through his hair, shaking his head ruefully. Sam always seemed to know these things. It's just," he looked away.  'It's just I can't get her out of my head and it makes my skin crawl,' didn't seem the thing to say right now.

"Hathor?"

He nodded.

"Daniel, it's not your fault. She put the whammy on all of you guys. Especially, you and the Colonel." Anger flashed in Sam's eyes, "I can't believe how she used the two of you."

"You're not the only one," Daniel said, miserably.

"Daniel," Sam said in frustration. She sighed. "She's gone and it's over."

Daniel looked up at her. "And next time?"

Sam crossed her arms defiantly and narrowed her eyes. "There won't be a next time." Her eyes took on a mischievous twinkle. "I know where the tranquilizer guns are now."

Daniel chuckled.

"Go get some sleep," Sam urged, giving him a shove.

Daniel nodded sheepishly and headed for the door. He paused for moment in the doorway. "Thanks, Sam. " Then he added, "For everything"

"That's what friends are for, Daniel," she said, smiling and waving at him dismissively at him.

Daniel glanced at the little radio, music still blaring from its speakers. 'Never again,' he swore. 'Never again.'
