Title:  Time Out of  Memory

Author:  OXBastetXO

Category:  Angst, Missing Scene

Spoilers:  Out of Mind

Sequel/Season Info:  Second Season...In Out of Mind...just before Jack and Sam find Daniel

Rating: G

Content Warning:  No...just messing in Daniel's mind.

Summary:  Daniel tries to come to grips with the information that SG-1 and everyone he has ever known in his time are dead.

Author's Note: I wrote this one less than one hour after seeing the season two finally...got one of the ideas that just wouldn't leave me alone until it was written.  Also for the "What happened to Danny's hair?" challenge. *eg*  Couldn't resist.  I have a sneaky feeling Hathor had something to do with it.

Showtime and MGM/UA owns Stargate: SG-1 and all there in. I'm just borrowing them for a bit, and I promise to give them right back when I'm done.  Well, most of them, I might just keep Daniel for a bit longer.

Daniel sat on the edge of the bed shivering, trying to think...to remember. He had to remember what happened to Jack, Sam, and Teal'c. Why couldn't he remember?

He could remember the gate room. Something about the planet being controlled by a Goa'uld, but not which one. They had gone through the gate, and then...nothing.

General Trofsky said they were dead. Everyone was dead. Jack. Sam. Teal'c. General Hammond. Doctor Frazier. Cassandra. Siler. Everyone. Sha're, was she dead too? Surely, she must think he was dead by now. That he had failed her. Daniel swallowed trying to hold in check the tears burning his eyes. So long. What had the General said, seventy-eight year. So long.

Daniel rubbed a hand though his hair and froze. What the heck had happened to his hair? It was...short. Really short. Ok, this was different. Could have something to do with the cryogenic freezing. Maybe it...maybe whoever...whatever froze him, cut it.

Suddenly, he felt tired. Daniel gave a wry smile.  He was supposed to be resting.  He wasn't very good listening to Doctors.  Frazier could have...no.  A pang shot through his heart.  She couldn't tell anyone anything.  She was dead.  They were all dead, but why couldn't he believe it?  His eyes started to drowse shut. He was tired.  Very, very tired. He laid back on the bed. A flash of color caught his eye before his eyes closed. Bright purple fluid was pumping in through the tube in his chest. Wearily, he laid his head back. He would think about this later......later.

"He is asleep now?"

"Yes."

"The mistress has plans for this one," Trofsky stepped up the glass partition to look down at the sleeping form in the room below.

"I know," Doctor Raleigh said looking down at the readouts.

"What of the others?" Trofsky turned to face the doctor.

"We have learned much from O'Neill. The woman is posing a bit of problem. She is suspicious."

"We should increase her dosage of sedative. If she becomes too alert, she may begin to sense things."

"It will be done," Raleigh said, inclining her head. She looked back down at the man still form in the cygenesis chamber, a small smile tugged her lips.

"What?" Trofsky narrowed his eyes, studying her.

Raleigh looked away quickly. She busied herself with the console. "I was just thinking, he does look much better with shorter hair."

"At least the Mistress thinks so and how he looks is none of you concern." Trofsky gave her a sharp look. "What we need from them now is information, not...other things."

"As you say." Raleigh said, looking sufficiently chastised.

"Sir." Trofsky turned to see on of the men dressed in on the of SGC guard uniforms.

"What is it?"

The guard shifted nervously. "O'Neill. He is missing." He glanced over at the doctor and then back to the general. "He was not in his chamber and the technician stationed there was unconscious. His clothing stolen."

"O'Neill must be found immediately," Trofsky snapped, his eyes hardening into obsidian slits.

"Yes, sir," the guard responded.

"He will no doubt venture into one of the other chambers. The woman's is next to his. He will head there," Raleigh said.

"Then that is where we will begin to look," Trofsky said heading for the door, Raleigh and the guard in tow.

These Tau'ri were more trouble than they were worth, he thought. But the mistress wanted them, all of them. Especially, this Jackson and now O'Neill would ruin it all. Not if he could help it, he thought as the door sealed shut behind them.

Down in the cryogenesis chamber, the door hissed open.
