Hobbies and Interests:
My main interest is the restoration of antique farm machinery, gasoline engines, tractors, crawlers, and trucks. I currently own 55 engines (25 IHC), two IHC tractors, three Oliver crawlers, a 1927 Model T Ford with a Shaw tractor conversion, a 1938 D35S IHC truck, 1938 D30 IHC truck, and a 1949 KB5 IHC truck. I am a mechanic by trade and own my own shop. I recently picked up some machine shop equipment and try to do all my own manufacturing of parts. I have a 16" x 12' Hendy lathe with a taper attachment, 16" x 8' South Bend lathe with lever action 5c collet setup, 10 K Southbend lathe (10" x 42") with a Buck 6k collet setup, a 1hp Bridgeport milling machine with power feed on the table, and a Sioux valve grinding machine. I recently started advertising on the web to build and sell new valves, built completely from scratch. These are a 2 piece design, cold rolled stem with new close grain cast iron head. I also have been rebuilding heads, new guides, clean up the valve bowl and cut a three angle valve seat to keep them narrow. It has been a real delight to provide this service to people who need it and pick up a little money to help support this expensive hobby.
