Third:  When you start the Harrison System (either at school or home), you automatically create: self-managed children.  Kids who become:  self motivated; self disciplined; self-controlled; self-responsible; and all the other miracles we expect from kids and seldom if ever receive.  This results in some spectacular improvements and business opportunities for any classroom or household.  Some examples follow!


  • OWN YOUR OWN PRIVATE SCHOOL:
    • Many more children can be taught with much greater achievement.  If you clicked on our above web site you now know how it's accomplished. This permits huge profits or a great reduction in tuition fees and school costs.  The Harrison System allows teachers to become "Independent Contractors."
    • As an Independent Contractor, (for let's say a year) the teacher is in charge, for the life of his or her contract, so you can relax. As a school owner, you become (in effect) a lessor for the buildings, school equipment, & everything else you supply. Thus, anyone (not just experienced educators) can own a private school (or parents' workshop), using "System" methods. Using Management methods would negate this and what follows.
    •  What will this do for you as the school owner?
      • Each grade-level teacher orders and pays for all of his or her instructional materials (unless you care to take over the task and receive more income).
      • Each instructor pays for his or her own Social Security, Retirement Benefits, Unemployment Insurance, Health Benefits, etc.
      • The contracting teacher also contracts with the parents of his or her pupils (in addition to you). Thus, all responsibility for academic improvement, behavior while at school, and discipline or motivation of pupils falls on that teacher's shoulders. In other words, you're out of the management business as a "School Owner" (if you want to be!) and the IRS should agree!
      • Your contracts with teachers & parents will specify that the teacher's income will be based upon 3 things:
        • The class's instruction will not begin until a set number of pupils (say 20) are enrolled. This will enlist eager assistance from parents of children already enrolled to help build the enrollment. Also, the teacher will want to energetically help.
        • Teacher earns a percentage of the tuition charged (say 60%) for each pupil taught (the other 40% is yours). Thus, payment is based upon obvious productivity. The more students taught the more income for the teacher (and you).  However,  we need some limiting factors:  
          • The percentage earned is reduced 5% from the charged tuition (returned as a refund due parents at the end of the school year) for each monthly reduction in academic achievement the whole class suffers, as determined by proper testing at the start & end of the school year.  This keeps the class's size from making the teacher unproductive for students.
          • Conversely:  The teacher should earn (from parents) a "Bonus" of 5% of tuition for each monthly increase (of the whole class) in academic achievement, up to a total of 10 months.
          • Finally, parents will obviously know "they are getting what they pay for!"  Those who don't will transfer their child and the teacher will either "shape up or ship out."   
        • As the school's owner, in contracts with your teachers, you must agree to supply land, buildings, educational equipment, playground equipment, utilities, & things not supplied by the contracting teacher.
    • As a school owner with 7 independently contracting teachers (one for each grade level - K through 6th grade), you should be able to lease sufficient land for your elementary school (To get such people merely advertise for teachers who want to own their own grade-level in a private school).
      • First, contact owners of vacant land (near a city bus line) held for appreciation.  Explain what you are trying to do and then offer the owner a percentage of the tuition collected (say 3%) for a contract to place "temporary & modular classroom buildings" on the land.  Try to get the land owner to also install any electricity and plumbing needed (you may have to raise the land owner's share to 5% for him or her to say "yes!").
      • Lease or rent sufficient modular buildings, playground equipment, etc. to accommodate your teachers (parents will know beautiful buildings don't educate - proper methods do).
      • It may be possible to even acquire a 5 or 10 thousand dollar loan from each contracting teacher.  If so, your financial problems are solved.
      • Also, it is possible to collect tuition in advance from parents eager to have their kids enrolled in such a private school as yours.
    • WANT TO REDUCE STRESS AND WORK FOR TEACHERS AS STUDENT PRODUCTIVITY INCREASES? MERELY CHANGE CUSTOMARY TUITION COSTS FOR PARENTS?  Harrison System use can provide startling and unique improvements for everybody! Instead of charging a "one price fits all," as most private schools do, why not base tuition upon the work and stress required by the teacher to effectively instruct each individual child?  After all, isn't this the way we pay our other professionals? Doctors, lawyers, etc. get paid in accordance with the work and stress involved. Why shouldn't teachers? Let's call such a cost "Floating Tuition!" For example it would work this way:
      • All new pupils' parents would pay (let's say): $450 monthly tuition, until the child can be effectively evaluated by the teacher for instructional stress and work reduction. At such time (say after two months), tuition can be reduced as follows:
        • The so called "A" student's parents (after evaluation) would pay only $250 monthly. Just think of the incentive for pupil and parent to improve in every respect.
        • The "B" student's parents would be charged $300 monthly. The "C" student's parents would pay $350. And, the "D" student's parents would have to cough up $400 monthly.
        • Nothing would stand in the way of any pupil moving from an "F" student to an "A" student except the pupil's & parents' own initiative. The Harrison System provides all of the assistance any pupil can use (see our web site at "ALLANHARRI."
        • Mentally or physically handicapped pupils require much more assistance. Thus, the teacher should be additionally compensated by the State rather than the parents.
    • Contract with Allan Harrison to instruct your 7 teachers in Harrison System methods. Harrison will accept 5% of tuition (forever).  Merely add the 5% as a tuition cost to parents. The cost will include: troubleshooting & problem solving; training of new teachers; promotion; current updates, books, and etc. Then you can't fail!  Actually, you receive more in services than the small percent parents pay.
      • Soon we will be able to provide you with "costless" classroom instructors. Teachers wanting to learn the "System" will serve in your school without payment just to receive instruction (as colleges require now).
      • Create a private school that can offer religious training and accept "vouchers," and yet not violate constitutional law.
        • The way this is done is to offer religious instruction (without charge), after the normal school hours for those caring to accept it.  Naturally, this is merely an option for any school owner wanting to do so.  The next paragraph explains in detail. 
    • Church Schools can take advantage of government vouchers, should they ever become available, by offering regular classroom instruction  (without religion being involved) during the regular school day.  After regular school hours, those pupils and their parents desirous of religious instruction could receive it as an extension of the school day.  Thus, a violation of the constitution concerning the mixing of church and State would not take place for voucher recipients.  An arrangement such as this should also build enrollment for the school and perhaps the church as well.
    • CREATE "SUPERKIDS" USING TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY as follows:
      • Extensively use COMPUTERS (much more than they are) to promote knowledge as follows:
      • Utilizing "Pupil Superteachers" (kids in the class who earn the right to teach a group of 5 pupils & are paid a 10% bonus of what each of their students earn), each group could use the many programs available for computers with a minimum of supervision from the adult (facilitator) instructor. Management methods require an immediate supervisor or else problems become numerous (e.g. horseplay, tutoring when needed, arguments, etc.).
      • Great educational strides could be taken with drills; seeing & using information instead of just hearing it; visiting actual localities by video to make things seem more real; having the computer react to pupils; and a host of other things that would help teachers and students progress academically.
      • One computer, mounted on a portable table with wheels so other teachers could use it, would be sufficient for each group of six students in the classroom. If funds were short, ten computers would be sufficient for a 60 pupil classroom. The same ten portable computers might be enough for three such classrooms if 2 hours of use were allocated each day.
      • Utilize television, VCR's, and audio equipment much more than they are used today in classrooms. Again, the Harrison System makes this possible where management methods often make it impossible.
      • Self motivated and self disciplined students require little supervision (especially with "Superkids" as tutors). Thus, the adult teacher like the pupil tutor is instantly available as needed.
  • OWN A WORKSHOP FOR "PARENTING":
    • Using the clickable ALLANHARRI web site indicated previously, or Harrison's books as cited above, you need to become an experienced expert at using the Harrison System in your home.  In other words:  Start it at home immediately!
    • Advertise, in newspapers & etc., that you have a "WORKSHOP" (call it a "Funshop" as that's what it is) for parents to learn how to eliminate work and stress from parenting - Guaranteed!  They pay nothing if dissatisfied and agree not to use what is taught. There'll be no takers on this, as everyone is "Overjoyed With Satisfaction,"once they experience the System's benefits.
    • Operate your FUNSHOP on a role-playing & do-it-yourself basis.
      • First:  Sell Harrison's two books to parents (this is a perfect introduction).  Buy the books from Harrison at wholesale for 50% off & sell them at retail (full price). Instruct parents to read them prior to your first meeting.  Anyone uninterested will receive a refund in 30 days.
      • Prior to your first meeting, make up some 3 by 5 cards containing descriptions of various happenings around a typical household (e.g. temper tantrums, lying, fighting, disrespect, household chores, etc.)
      • Have your large group of instructees pretend they are children in a household. Divide the total group into groups of five to ten people for instructional purposes (similar to what a household would be like). Have two in each group become parents with the remainder being children (then ask them to change places every so often).
      • Shuffle the 3 X 5 cards with the groups learning from role-playing how to handle each situation.
        • This quickly reveals the stark contrast with management & self-management).

Fourth:  Advertise!  Advertise!  Advertise!  This is the prescription for your assured success!  This can be accomplished much easier and a lot less expensively than expected.  

  • First of all, you will have something worth advertising - "Self-Managed Children!" People will eagerly peruse your advertisements as unique.
  • Second, the media will be interested in helping you since what you have will be interesting and unusual to their readers, listeners, or viewers.
  • And last, but not least, your self-managed children will be walking and talking advertisements wherever they go.  People will be amazed and ask how they got that way.  Instruct the kids and parents to always tell them.
